Nagarjuna received the best actor award from the state government for the film Sri Ramadasu for year 2006. Although he has not made any political statements, he thanked Chief Minister YS Rajashekar Reddy for allowing the hike in ticket rates. Recently, the government slashed ticket rates for admission into movie theatres. Barely after two months, CM announced now that the government would now hike the ticket rates for upper class (meaning balcony). Nagarjuna said it is a wise decision and thanked the CM.
