Shiva Balaji engaged to Madhumitha

Tollywood’s upcoming actor Shiva Balaji is engaged to Madhumitha on August 21st in a grand function at Golconda Hotel, Hyderabad. The two fell in love with each other during the shoot of a Tamil film English Kadhal.
Siva Balaji, earned a good name and shot to fame with the Telugu film ‘Arya’. Madhumitha too is familiar in Telugu as she played sister to Arjun in ‘Puttintiki Raa Chelli’.
According to Madhumitha, also known as Swapna Madhuri, this is not exactly a love marriage; their relationship is not based on the typical love-at-first-sight experience, but instead, it is more of a friendship which grew stronger over a period of time, during which they developed immense mutual respect and understanding. The decision of marriage was unanimously taken by the couple and their parents.

Siva Balaji said, ‘Presently Madhu is busy with Tamil films. Once she completes all her projects, we will get married. Possibly the marriage would take place either in December or in January. We have not yet decided whether Madhu should continue in films or not.’

Drama in Chiru camps

Hyderabad, Aug. 22: A war of words is cropping up between Chiranjeevi’s fans and the political leaders who have joined him recently. There are differences of opinion over the issue of mobilisation of masses for the public meeting on August 26 at Tirupati. Majority of Chiranjeevi’s fans are reportedly reluctant to rally behind him as they claim that they are being neglected, ever since the actor entered politics.
The Guntur Chiranjeevi fans association president said the fans have been neglected by the new entrants into the camp such as K. Rosaiah, the son-in-law of the TD leader, Mr U. Venkateshwarlu. Similarly, in Nalgonda district, Mr B. Venkanna Goud, the Chiru fans’ association president, said they there are now dominated by a new entrant Mr J. Sudhaker Rao, who reportedly claims to be a relative of actor Allu Aravind. The situation is similar in most districts, sources said.

Chiru’s birthday goes low-key at home

Hyderabad: Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 53rd birthday was a relatively low-key affair with fans appearing to heed his call that they need not come all the way to Hyderabad just to wish him on Friday.
The new party office on Road No. 46, Jubilee Hills, that was a beehive of activity the past two weeks with people from all over the State thronging the place for a glimpse of their star, wore a deserted look.
Elsewhere in the State, however, fans organised a range of activities like blood donation camps, distribution of fruits in hospitals and notebooks and textbooks to students besides programmes aimed at ensuring cleanliness in their surroundings.
A difference from birthday celebrations of the previous years was the political overtones seen at every birthday-related function. Slogans hailing his entry into politics and projecting him to be the next Chief Minister were heard everywhere.
A few hundreds of cakes were cut. Among these was one that was cut by the actor’s uncle J. Srinivasa Rao at the launch of his new website www.punadirallu.org. This site was exclusively touted as an entry point for anyone to be associated with Mr. Chiranjeevi in his new ‘avatar’.

At ‘Annamayyapuram’ in Madhapur, a special ‘homam’ was conducted, attended by Chiranjeevi’s wife Surekha and brother-in-law Dr. Venkateswara Rao, apart from Swamy Naidu, a key aide and several others.
It is learnt that special pujas were conducted at residences of the actor’s close relatives. Meanwhile, Mr. Chiranjeevi has decided not to make public appearance till the meeting at Tirupati on August 26 prior to which he will have darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala.

Muslims Not Allowed

Cosmopolitan Bollywood is finally baring its communal fangs. After Saif Ali Khan and Shabana Azmi-Javed Akhtar, several actors and film folk have come forward to express disdain over property segregration in Mumbai.
A leading actor, on condition of anonymity, says, "The entire JVPD (Juhu Vile-Parle Development) Scheme where the who’s who of Bollywood including Anil Kapoor, the Deols, Shatrughan Sinha and Yash Chopra reside, is not open to Muslims. I know, because I’ve tried getting property there. I was turned away. Isn’t it ironical that a locality housing film folk who scream themselves hoarse over secularism, is actually a hotbed of bigotry?"
Arshad Warsi says, "It was very frustrating. I can’t buy residential or office space anywhere in and around Juhu, or in any part of Mumbai. The JVPD Scheme where the cream of Bollywood lives, is closed to Muslims. I had negotiated and almost closed the deal for property in Juhu when the builders got to know I was Muslim.
They refused. Then I tried to buy property in my wife Maria’s name. Even that didn’t materialise. Now I’ve no choice but to live with my wife and children in a rented place and to work out of a rented office. Could this be happening in so-called metropolitan Mumbai? I feel we are regressing in such matters," Arshad is aghast.
Apparently, Sanjay Khan has also been a victim of real-estate discrimination. When he tried to buy property recently in a predominantly Hindu building, he was told he’d be allowed residence only if he agreed to not cook or serve non-vegetarian food in his home.
Sanjay Khan’s son Zayed refuses to comment on the property prejudice but confirms that his father has indeed been a victim of discrimination. "I personally haven’t had much of a chance to feel discriminated against. That could be because we’re not an in-your-face Muslim family. My mother is a Parsi. I’m married to a Hindu and so is my sister Sussanne. We’re quite an assorted bunch."
However Zayed admits he encounters discrimination at his workplace, on location and in sets in unexpected ways. "You have people unnecessarily screaming Jai Mata Di or greeting you with an Assalaam Wale Qum for no reason except to induce a community feeling in a crowd. For me, my religion is a very personal thing. There’s no need to flaunt it."

Nitin was hurt during the shooting of his next film Drona at Ramoji Film studios. During an action sequence, Tube lights broke and the shattered pieces hurt Nitin on his face and hands. Chiranjeevi's party office inaugurated

Chiranjeevi's Party Office at Banjara Hills Rd No# 46 is inaugurated after the midnight hours on Sunday (early hours of Monday). Pooja was performed as per Vedic rituals.
