KIKK in January?

Konchem Ishtamga, Konchem Kashtamga (KIKK), starring Siddharth and Tamannaah, is directed by Srikant (who was V.V. Vinayak’s assistant) and produced by Nallamalapu Srinivas under his Lakshmi Narasimha Productions banner in association with Suresh Babu's Suresh Productions. More than 50% of the production work has been wrapped up, along with three song sequences and a couple of crucial scenes. KIKK sees the return of Ramya Krishnan to the big screen, as Siddharth's mother. A song sequence with Siddharth, Tamannaah, Vijay Samrat and some junior artites is being filmed at Saradhi Studios. After this song’s shooting is wrapped up, the cast and crew will shift base to Shamshabad International Airport or Ramoji Film City and continue the shooting schedules. The film will go into post-production by December and is expected to be released in January 2009, in time for Sankaranti.

K.Viswanath gets Allu Ramalingayya award

Allu Ramalingayya National Award established in memory of Allu Ramalingayya will be given to director K.Viswanath for this year. Saripalli Kondala Rao, chairmain of the Allu Ramalingayya Kalapeetam, announced this. Swarnakankanam will be honored on K.Viswanath on 1st of October at Harihara Kalabhavan. P.Suseela will attend the attend the event as chief guest. Prominent film personalities are expected to attend this event.

Devisri is Charmi's hero in reel life

Charmi, who has become one of the top leading actress in Telugu industry, will act in the direction of a debut director Pawan. Rajasekhar, one of the producers of Yamagola Malli Modalayindi, will produce this venture. As per the reports, music director Devisri Prasad will not only provide music for the film but also will play the main lead in the film opposite Charmi. Devi's energy and performance in the live concerts already speak deal about this talented artist. Kausalya Supraja Rama release on 9th Oct

Suresh Productions film Kausalya Supraja Rama starring Srikanth and Charmi in the lead will release on the eve of Dasara (9th October). Surya Teja directed this film for producer D.Ramanaidu. Talking about the film, D.Ramanaidu said, 'Music by Koti is a big asset for the film. Music got good response. And all the films that Srikanth did for this banner are good hits. I am confident that this film will be added to that list. Suryateja will become a sought after director after the release. The film is a clean family entertainer'.

‘Neninthe’ to have satires on film industry

The Raviteja-starrer ‘Neninthe’ directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by DVV Danayya on the banner of Universal Media is getting ready for release soon. Siya is making her first-ever appearance in Telugu films. Over 70 per cent shooting was completed so far and the producer is making efforts to complete the movie very soon. Two songs were planned in Switzerland. The producer is making efforts to release the movie in December. According to film unit sources, the film deals with the problems being faced by the technical crew of the films, especially the assistant directors and others. The director is making an attempt to play satires on the direction department.

Teja surfaces back with his unique tricks

Teja was the film maker responsible for firing off a new trend of small budget but very high on the entertainment quotient films with his hugely successful debut film ‘Chitram‘ having Uday Kiran and Reema Sen in the lead roles Over the years with hit films like ‘Nuvvu Nenu‘ Teja has build up a reputation of a film maker who can create trends with ease. Again for his latest venture also, the film maker has done something very different. He has decided on featuring 36 new artists for his forthcoming movie titled as ‘Keka‘. Teja is also doing an experiment with the screenplay. He will be doing a reverse screenplay for ‘Keka‘ which will be releasing on October 1st. It was heard that Illayaraja was first considered for composing the songs, but later on Chakri was decided as the music director.

Priyamani parallels with Balakrishna

Priyamani made her debut in to the Telugu Industry with the film ‘Evare Athagadu’ which also happens to be a first venture for Vallabh, son of KS Rama Rao. Directed by Bhanu Shankar, the movie was produced by KS Rama Rao. The film did not reap the expected success for her, and consequently she went back to the Tamil Industry. After a gap, she started her second innings as heroine with 'Pellaina Kothalo' in the direction of Madan. Followed by 'Yama Donga' that got her the much needed recognition, offers started pouring in from Tollywood. Shewent on to work as heroine with Kalyan Ram in the film 'Hare Ram'. Presently, she is working for a film opposite Balakrishna who plays the protagonist. The movie is made in the directorial venture of Mahadev, an associate of Rajamouli and is produced by Sivalenka Krishnaprasad on Vaishnavi Devi Arts banner. Adding to this, she is sharing screen space in a film once again with Balakrishna playing the lead. This flick is made in the direction of N.Shankar which is being produced by Kalyan Ram on Nandamuri TarakaRama Rao arts banner. Priyamani is working in two parallel films along with Balakrishna at the same time. Further, she is the only heroine to be credited for acting with all the present heroes of Nandamuri family.

Uday Kiran accedes to do cameo

Hero Uday Kiran debuted with 'Chitram' in the direction of Teja. Movies like 'Nuvvu Nenu', 'Manasantha Nuvve', brought him the needed recognition as a hero. Uday's image of an action hero in 'Sri Ram' did not get him the expected success. After this film, he did not attain any noteworthy hits in his work. There have been rumors that young music director Devi Sri Prasad and sexy actress Charmee are an item. Although both of them denied the rumors about their love affair, speculations continue. Now, the latest buzz is that Devi Sri Prasad is all set to make his acting debut in Charmee’s new film to be produced by Rajashekar who earlier made Yamagola Modalindi. Devi has not confirmed this news but buzz is that he would be signing the movie, which has Charmee as main heroine. If he really does acting debut in this film, the rumors would be justified. Mahesh Babu’s film shooting in Bahrain

Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram’s film is finally going to the sets. From October 15th, it will begin its regular shoot in the deserts of Middle East. Bahrain, the island country in the Persian Gulf, is the place chosen for its first schedule. According to our sources, the unit will be leaving to Bahrain to shoot the major action episodes there in the deserts. Two song would also be canned there on Mahesh and Parvati Melton. Manisharma is scoring the music. After finishing the Bahrain schedule, the unit will straight away head for Rajasthan and complete another schedule there. The film is a romantic action drama. Search for another heroine is on as Tamanna expressed her displeasure for giving her second lead.

Venu in Chintakayala Ravi

So far the news is out that NTR is making his special appeanrece in Venky's Chintakala Ravi. Afresh, it is reliably learnt that the tallest hero in Tollywood, Venu, will also be seen in the film. Nikitha and Sameer (IPL commentator) also did their small part for this flick. The film's date of release is pushed by one day to October 2.

PR flag festival: Chiru

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi announced that the event – Uroora Praja Rajyam Uroora Pandaga (Praja Rajyam in Every village; Festival in every village) – will be celebrated all over the state. He sought the party activists and fans to unfurl the party flag in all villages, town and cities. He further sought them to plan one crore saplings on that day, not merely as a party activity, but with commitment as social service. The same day, Chiru will be taking the membership of the party, giving it first to his physically challenged fan Balakrishna. Nandamuri heroes – Balakrishna, NTR, Kalyanram and Tarakaratna – today held a closeted meeting with TDP president Chandrababu Naidu. Ashta Chemma unit in World Heart Day

Marking the World Heart Day today, director Indraganti Mohana Krishna (who is currently enjoying the success of Ahsta Chemma) launched the mega walk organized by a corporate hospital at the Necklace Road, Hyderabad. The walk culminated at the IMAX junction. The unit of Ashta Chamma, including Colors Swathi, Nani and others, attracted the participants and the passersby. Mohankrishna appreciated the hospital management and the participants for the gesture in promoting awareness about heart ailments, which when detected early, could be cured at the right time.

Research on Chandrabose lyrics

Popular lyricist Chandrabose, who penned about 1700 songs, is set to make his journey as a potential material by himself and by his works for films into Telugu literature. Munikrishna Reddy, a senior lecturer in Telugu at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Arts College (TTD administered college affiliated to SV University) has submitted a mini-research paper on 200 select lyrics of Chandrabose, duly categorizing them into devotional, romantic, social and general. This research is guided by Prof. Ugranam Chandrasekhar, Head of the Department of Telugu. This is for obtaining the M.Phil degree. Chandrabose expressed his happiness over the impact of lyrics on the literary circle.

NBK-Chiru fans clash

Tension prevailed at Narsaraopet in Guntur district this evening when the fans belonging to Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi clashed over the banner issue. Chiru fans alleged that the banner of their star was damaged by NBK fans at the local Ravipadu Road junction. The trouble which started with heated arguments lost control and led to a squabble. Both the groups hurled stones and soda bottles at each other. Loss to the APSRTC property was reported. Both of them resorted to rastharoko later. The police swung into action to control the tense situation.

Nithin's 'Drona' for Deepavali

Nithin starrer ‘Drona’ is undergoing brisk progress in the direction of debutant Kumar, who was erstwhile an associate of SS Rajamouli. Puri – RaviTeja's 'Neninthe' on December 18th

Director Puri Jagannath earlier gave hatrick hits like 'Itlu Sravani Subrahmanyam', 'Idiot' and 'Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai' with Ravi Teja playing the lead roles. After a gap, the director has come together with Ravi Teja to make a new film titled 'Neninthe', on Universal Media banner, produced by DVV Danayya. Ravi Teja plays the character of an assistant director in this film, while the debutant heroine Siya plays the role of a side-dancer. The final part of canning work is under progress currently at Annapurna Studios. The director and producer are planning to release the film on the 18th of December. Ali is playing a supporting role in this flick. Chakri has composed the musical score. Being made by this successful duo, the movie is expected to strike it again.

'Kothulu' twines Puri Jagannath - Sairam Shankar

Puri Jagannath's brother Sairam Shankar debuted as a hero with '143' in the direction of Jagannath. The director has plans to launch another directorial venture with his brother soon after 'Neninthe'. 'Neninthe' is a film that is made on the scene that prevails in the film industry. The director acclaimed for commercial hits is sure to portray the scenario in tinsel town slickly. Another pricey movie is in pipe line to be made in the combination of Puri Jagannath and Mahesh Babu. The film is set to be produced by renowned Hollywood firm Warner Bros along with Ocher studios, a company managed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya. Current news is known that the director is working on Ravi Teja starrer 'Neninthe' at present, which is planned to be finished soon to be released in the month of December. 'Mr.Gireesham' comes yare

'Mr. Gireesham' stars Ramyakrishna after a gap in a prominent role is being pitted against Krishna Bhagwan playing the title role. The film is directed by Viswa Prasad for which K Rameshchandra Benerjeebabu does the production work. SRTRC Creations presents the film and it has completed 70 percent of its talkie portions. Recently, the crew of the film met the press to brief about this near ending at Film Nagar, Hyderabad. Speaking to the media, Krishna Bhagavan said, "Till now 70 per cent of the shooting has been completed, in two schedules including four out of the five songs composed. The third & final schedule will be finished by the 10th of October. The character of Gireesham created in the classic drama Kanyasulkam, by the legend writer Gurajada Appa Rao; has been modernized a little and designed to suit the present society." 'Mr. Gireesham' was launched on 6th June, and has completed about 70 percent of shooting till now. The director and producer of the film are planning to complete the pending part shortly, and release the film in the 2nd week of November.

RGV takes up film on Paritala Ravi

Ramgopal Varma, who has tackeled mafia, crime, goondaism, ghosts, black magic in his production and direction, is gearing up to make a film on factionism. He will produce the film but Dharma-Raksha will direct the venture. The film is titled Raktha Charirtra and the logo of the film in unveiled on Sunday by hero Jagapati Babu in the city. One More thought Entertainments and Z-3 pictures will produce this film. This will be made only in Telugu as this concept is more native to Andhra, opined Ramgopal Varma. The latest film of Maheshbabu to be directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Singanamala Ramesh on the banner of Kanakaratna Movies is likely to go to sets from October 15. However, the regular shooting of the film would begin with the schedule planned in Bahrain. Parvathi Melton was selected as one of the heroines and it is learnt that the director is planning to bring out a complete commercial entertainer. Actor Nandamuri Tarakaratna at a public function in Vinukonda in Guntur district said that Telugu Desam Party was formed by his grandfather late NT Rama Rao and that the progress of the state would be possible only with the clan of NTR. "The heirs of Nandamuri family are not just wearing bangles. We are all with Balayya babai (Nandamuri Balakrishna), who is our leader in future. I say this, slapping my thigh (Thoda Kotti Chebutunna). All our Nandamuri heirs are coming to the forthcoming Yuva Garjana in Guntur." He garlanded the statue of NTR at a local center. Venkatesh's 'Chinthakayala Ravi'

'Dil' Raju's 'Kotta Bangaru Lokam'
'Dil' Raju produces the movie 'Kotha Bangaru Lokam' starring Varun Sandesh, the young actor who stole hearts in 'Happy Days' opposite a debutante heroine Swetha Prasad. The movie is presented by Smt Anitha and produced on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Srikanth Addala a former lecturer, is debuting as a director with this film. The time could be mentioned as 'Happy Days' era, that sees quite a number of films being made on the same line posing a college scenario. Nithin – GV's 'Hero'

Teja's 'Keka'
With 'Chitram' director Teja paved way for the genre of small-budget movies. He bagged a sensational success with this endeavor even though it's his first. Later he made few more films in his direction which didn't grab attention. After making 'Lakshmi Kalyanam' which did not reap success he took a gap from directing movies. Now, Teja is set to what he does best, casting new faces, with 36 new artists titled as 'Keka' is his next. Chitram Movies is producing this innovative film. The title song 'Keka' has been recently canned in Chennai. This love story made after a long gap by Teja, with varied style of screenplay has raised the level of expectation. Aishwarya Rai managed to squeeze out enough time for a photo shoot during her short stay in London for the last leg of the Unforgettable World Tour led by Amitabh Bachchan. The photo shoot was done for the October issue of the famous fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue. This issue of the magazine will be very high on the glamour quotient as it has been termed as the glamour issue. 'Prathikshanam' completes first schedule

'Prathikshanam' is a suspense thriller starring Rambha in the lead role is being directed by debutant Vyas. Pallavi Srinivas is producing this film on Parijay Creations banner. The movie has completed its first schedule of shooting. Speaking on this occasion producer said, "We have completed the first schedule on 25th with the shooting done at Hyderabad. During this schedule we have canned a song along with some prominent sequences. The song is featured on Ramba, Aravind and 60 dancers, was choreographed by Shobi."

'Kuberulu' audio on October 1st week

Sivaji, Ali, Krishna Bhagavan, Farzana and Kausha playing the lead cast in the film 'Kuberulu' is being directed by Srinivas reddy. Karuturi Srinivas and Yaganti Srinivas are producing it as a joint endeavor on Godavari Talkies banner. The film completed shooting and is through post-production work. On this occasion a press meet was organized in Hyderabad on Thursday.

A Tamil newspaper today (September 26, 2008) published that actress Sangeeta has secretly got married to her boy friend Krish in Tirupati. According to reports of that newspaper, Sangeeta has been romancing Krish, a singer in Tamil films, and they got married in a temple in Tirupati, much against to the wishes of their parents. On other hand, Sangeeta has denied the reports. “How many times media got me married to someone or the other?,” she slams. She also said that she has no immediate plans of marriage.

Name change for Mahesh Babu's Varudu?

Mahesh Babu’s latest movie, Varudu, is set to take off early next month. Parvati Melton, the hot NRI babe, will be one of the heroines. Initially conceptualized as a romantic entertainer, the story now has more action in it. So director Trivikram Srinivas and Mahesh Babu feel that Varudu may not be suitable as a title anymore. Dil Raju unites with NTR and Prabhas?

A fairly young man, Raju (whose first hit Dil made him famous as Dil Raju in Tollywood) has the pulse of the Telugu audiences. Not one of his films can be termed as a flop or even average. Having produced movies like Paragu and Bommirallu, any movie that he decides to produce is surely hit material. And now he has decided to do projects with Junior NTR and Prabhas, who are known for their mass action hero images. He announced recently that story discussions are on for the movies but “their treatment and further development is still on the anvil”. He also revealed that he has four more stories on hand that he has taken up after examining them thoroughly. A popular website quoted him as saying, “With piling up of good stories, I feel my growing responsibility as producer on my nerves. I feel the pressure.” Kotha Bangaru Lokam, his latest, will release on October 2, Gandhi Jayanthi, to cash in on the ending of Ramzan and the Dassera holiday crowds which will flock theatres. Naga Chaitanya’s debut, which Dil Raju has the honour of producing, will start regular shooting schedules in October. It was already officially launched on September 22nd, on his grandfather Akkineni Nageswarao’s birthday.

Frustrated with managers and dates: Ali

Ali, who is usually in cheering mode, was a little frustrated with the heroines and their managers. As the joint secretary of MAA, he strongly supported the need for even artists from Mumbai being members of MAA. He particularly expressed his opinion on the managers. 'Even if the artist is a zero in Mumabi, they are given number one treatment here. That puts a big hole in the money bag of the producer. As soon as they land here they have to rush to Star Hotels and demand for separate dressing rooms and even demand for star treatment for the assistants accompanying them. And more over they want to only work with Venkatesh, Pawan Kalyan etc. Even we acted with Mumbai heroines in the past. The times are different now. There is no discipline and every chance is exploited. To be able to tackle such issues, they should now be members of MAA', said Ali.

King in Ooty and then off to Bangalore

King, coming in the combination of Nagarjuna, Srinu Vaitla, is going with production at full pace. 60% of the production is done. Unit will film a song and a chase in Ooty and then will move to Bangalore from Oct 5th to November 4th to complete the schedule. Unit will then go to Turkey and Dubai for songs. So far every thing is on schedule and the film will release on 18th December, said Sivaprasad Reddy, producer of the film. Trisha is the heroine in the film while Srihari is playing a key role in the film. Story is provided by Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan. BVS Ravi gave dialogs.

Kotha Bangaru Lokam on 9th October

Dhil Raju's Kotha Bangaru Lokam starring Varun Sandesh (Happy Days fame) is all set to hit the theaters on 9th October on the eve of Dasara. Dhil Raju's banner Sri Venkateswara Creations banner delivered a blockbuster for 2006 Dasara in the form of Bommarillu. Even though Dhil Raju did not produce the film Happy Days, he distributed the film which also released around Dasara in 2007. The unit is pretty confident that Dhil Raju will repeat his magic this Dasara too.
In fact, KBL started in January of this film. The film was to release some time ago but got delayed. Cinematographer Chota K Naidu commented on the same thing. He said, 'Dhil Raju said he will complete the film in 40 days. As happened with all his previous films, this film also got delayed. But now I have the first hand experience on the delay factor. Dhil Raju is a perfectionist. He will not compromise even on a minute thing. He strives for quality. I really appreciate that factor in him', said Chota K. Naidu. Dhil Raju said one of the reasons for the delay is the dates of Prakashraj. 'It usually takes more time when making film with new comers. And also, we wanted only Prakashraj to do the father role in the film. We waited for his dates. Even though I got suggestions to move on, I did not. After looking at the rushes, now I am happy that every one in the unit understands my stand. I even heard that there is no KBL if there is no Prakashraj. I am happy to hear that which proves my point', said Dhil raju.

Ninna Nedu Repu on 9th October

Ravikrishna, Akshara, Tamanna starring Ninna Nedu Repu, directed by Lakshmikanth Chenna, will release on 9th of October. The film is produced by SPR Entertainments banner by Nookarapu Surya Prakasa Rao. The film was done with production a while ago. But due to some other issues, the release was delayed. Talking about the film, Lakshmikanth Chenna said, 'The film aptly reflects the mind set of the present youth. A 25 year old guy comes to Hyderabad to achieve something in life. The circumstances, the changes in him and if he finally did achieve what he wanted to do is the story of this film'.

JD Chakravarthy in Naga Chaitanya's film?

The wavelength of the hero-turned-director JD Chakravarthy and producer Dil Raju reportedly matched a lot. It is worth mentioning here that Dil Raju bagged the distribution rights of ‘Homam’ directed by JD Chakravarthy and the latter made chartain changes in scenes and re-shot them on the advice of the producer/distributor. Now it is reliably learnt that JD agreed to work for Dil Raju banner. However, it is not yet clear whether JD would play an artiste in that film or direct it. When contacted, JD simply escaped with a reply saying, ‘I am not aware of anything. But one thing is sure that I am going to work with Dil Raju in his future project.’ A gossip is also doing rounds that JD is going to play a key role in Naga Chaitanya’s debut film.

Hotel Fortune Kathriya, Hyderabad served the host for the audio release function of Nitin's style demeanor 'Hero'. The movie is being directed by erstwhile villain Sudhakar Naidu widely known as GV and Bhavana plays to render the love quotient for 'Hero'. Manyam Suryanarayana presents the movie, produced by Manyam Ramesh on Mayam Entertainments banner. The audio launch was held on 24th September. The audio is being marketed through Aditya Music. The music CD is unveiled by hero Srikanth and the first one was presented to hero Tarun. C.Kalyan released the music cassette and presented the first one to Karunakaran.

Aish 200-days call sheet to Robo

Beauty empress Aishwarya Roy Bachchan has earmarked 200 days of call sheet to Rajni's film Robo, reports said. This much-publicized film prompted Rajni to gain 5 kilos of weight. Director Shankar is taking the services of 25 new assistant directors for the film, including Rajni's daughter Soundarya. An unofficial version goes that the story is about a robot that falls in love with Aishwarya and how a scientist taking advantage of the robot's weakness tries to exploit it.

Similarly for Sai Pradeep son of popular director Ravi Raja Pinisetty, his debutant movie 'Oka Vichitram' did not do well in the silver screen and was unable to attain the required recognition for the actor. Later he changed his name as Adi and did the lead role in Tamil film 'Mirugam' which was later dubbed in Telugu as 'Mrugam'. His performance in the flick made the people aghast both in Tollywood and Kollywood with its reach. Director V.V.Vinayak who was present at the special screening of this film, has recently made an announcement that he is going to make a film with Sai Pradeep in the lead.

'Samrajyam' audio release on 12th October

'Samrajyam' starring an array of artists Srihari, Suman, Adi, Priyanka Kothari, Smeeksha and Malavika in the lead cast has been directed by Veeru Dwaith. Muthyala Anjaneyulu is producing the film under the banner Siddi Vinayaka Films. The making of the film will end by 25th September as reported. In Ramoji Film City, a song is currently under making with Priyanka Kothari in a brisk pace. On the verge of completing the movie director Veeru Dwaith spoke saying that presently a song is being made with Priyanka Kothari and the shooting will be completed by tomorrow. A group of Mumbai dancers are also rendering their performance in the song which is being canned in a green mat format, MTV style.

Tamanna says NO

Tamanna has declined an offer to act opposite Mahesh Babu in a Telugu film to be directed by Trivikram, one of the happening directors of Andhra Pradesh.According to sources, the trouble is that she was promised the heroine's role, but it now looks like Parvathi Melton, the other heroine has more scenes and songs with Mahesh. Following this, Tamanna has reportedly decided to opt out. The petite actress is currently playing the female lead role in three Tamil films- Ayan opposite Surya, Padikadhavan opposite Dhanush and Ananda Thandavam, which has the story of Sujatha and directed by Chellamay fame Gandhi Krishna. However, Tamanna in a telephonic reaction to Indiaglitz has stated that she had to opt out of the project due to non availability of dates.

Krishnavamsi’s movie to hit screen in Nov

After achieving a big hit like ‘Chandamama’, Creative Director Krishnavamsi is busy doing a film and the film shooting is in progress with Tarun and Genelia in the lead. Producer Sunkara Madhumurali says, ‘The director is bringing out the film as a family entertainer and it takes a twist into a love story and finally prove a big success. Manisharma is scoring music for the movie and the producer is planning to launch the audio in the second week of October. The film is most likely to be released in November. Though ‘Sasirekha Parinayam’ is the title under consideration for the movie, but it is learnt that the film unit is thinking of changing it now.

Victory Venkatesh is playing the hero under the direction of Krish of ‘Gamyam’-fame. Star producer C Aswanidutt is producing the movie and ‘Jaya Krishna Mukunda’ is the title under consideration. The producer is planning to start the shooting by the end of October, continue the regular shooting immediately and release the film as a Sivaratri gift. Though Trisha was supposed to play opposite Venkatesh in the flick, the producer is now considering an alternative for her. It is also learnt that the producer is making plans to bring out the film in a low budget.

Bhoomika to test her hand in direction

After playing heroine in very good films and also blockbusters, Bhoomika turned very professional after getting married. In fact, she started her second innings with ‘Missamma’ and achieving successive hits from then onwards and became a very busy artiste. It is well aware that Bhoomika is planning to produce a movie with Charmme as heroine. As per the latest information, she reportedly told the media that she had lots of interest on direction for a very long time and she may test her hand in direction very soon. Bhoomika had already started trails in this regard and she would only direct the movie, but doesn’t act in it.

Sakshi ready to do item numbers

Sakshi Sivanand made her entry into the Telugu film industry opposite Mega Star Chiranjeevi in ‘Master’. Later, she played heroine in several hit films in Telugu and attracted everyone. However, she distanced herself from the Telugu film industry for some unknown reasons. Very recently she made a special appearance in ‘Homam’ of Jagapatibabu and sizzled in an item number. Sakshi says that she is ready to do item numbers and those interested could contact her at a remuneration of Rs 6 lakh per song. Finally, Sakshi entered into the list of girls who reduced to the level of doing item numbers after playing heroine earlier.

‘Ninna Nedu Repu’ slated for release as Dasara gift

Shooting and post-production formalities were complete for ‘Ninna Nedu Repu’ directed by Lakshmikanth Chenna and produced by Nukarapu Suryaprakasa Rao with Ravikrishna of ‘7/G Brindavan Colony’ as hero, Tamanna of ‘Happy Days’-fame and Akshara (formerly known as Rekha) as heroines is all set for release as a Vijayadasami gift on October 9. Anil scored music for the movie and the film had a sizzling item number from Kausha.

Srihari Nanu to direct Bhoomika’s production

It is well aware that Bhoomika is turning a producer and planned to bring out a movie. Initially it was planned to consider Charmme as heroine, but now they changed the plan and make the movie with all new faces. It is also learnt that the film would have four boys and four girls and Bharat Thakur would produce it. It is learnt that Srihari Nanu, who had directed ‘Satyabhama’ with Bhoomika as heroine was asked to direct the movie, which would be produced on the banner of Downtown Productions.

Naa Girlfriend Baaga Rich’ for release in Oct

Sivaji and Kaveri Jha are playing the lead in ‘Naa Girlfriend Baaga Rich’ directed by M Nagendrakumar and produced by Kumar Brothers on the banner of KB Cinema. The film is almost in the final stages of completion. The director is bringing out the movie like a total entertainer. The film has music from Anand of ‘Mantra’-fame and the producer is planning to launch the audio in the first week of October. Efforts are being made to release the film by the end of October.

Rakhi Sawant to lead ICL cheerleaders

The Indian Cricket League (ICL) Tuesday unveiled its indigenous cheerleaders‘ squad ICL Zeebras that will be led by Bollywood oomph star Rakhi Sawant as its ‘Queen Cheerleader‘. The squad will be present at every match of the second season of the league that begins at Hyderabad Oct 10, an ICL statement Tuesday said. "Cheerleading is not just tamasha (mindless drama). It is a sport by itself. Until now, it was the exclusive domain of the international cheerleading troupes. But, thanks to ICL, this country will now have an indigenous cheerleaders‘ squad," Sawant said in the statement. The ICL Zeebra squad comprises eight other cheerleaders - Ritika, Preeti, Jessica, Geeta, Richa, Sharvari, Jayshree and Sangeeta. They will perform across all the match venues of Gurgaon, Panchkula, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. Sawant has personally auditioned and hand-picked the squad members and their performances will be designed by a Mumbai-based choreographer. "It was after my performance at Panchkula during ICL‘s Season 1 that I saw a huge opportunity for a possible Indian cheerleading squad,‘ the actress said. "That dialogue resumed a few months later and culminated in the formation of the ICL Zeebras. I can‘t wait to don my Zeebra outfit and break into a jig every time Rohan (Gavaskar) or Raviraj (Patil) hits a six. I am sure, this will be one cheerleading squad that the country will remember for a long time," she added. Shariq Patel, ICL‘s senior vice president (Marketing & Operations), said: "Cheerleaders have a significant role to play in the modern context of sports. The ICL Zeebras squad includes some extremely talented and graceful dancers. I am confident that this synergistic initiative between cricket and entertainment will formulate a completely new experience for sports fans of the country. "Our new initiative ‘Cricket Hai Meri Life‘ has been supported with a Rs.50 crore (Rs. 500 million) marketing campaign. This will be the new mantra for young cricketers at ICL," Patel added. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that governs the game in India has barred ICL players from turning out in domestic and international matches. At BCCI‘s instance, the governing boards of other cricket playing nations have declared a similar ban. BCCI conducts the official Indian Premier League (IPL) that was a roaring success at its inaugural season earlier this year.

Bangaru Kodipetta in Chennai

Bangaru Kodipetta, the super hit song from megastar Chiranjeevi starrer, is now being remixed in Ram Charan’s new film being directed by top director S S Rajamouli. Although the remix song was originally planned to picturise it in Vizag where the original song was filmed but couldn’t. Hence the shooting is now under progress in the backdrop of Shipyard in Chennai. The song will be canned till October 1st in Chennai. Ram Charan is dancing to the steps composed by choreographer Prem Rakshit, while Mumait is the ‘Kodipetta'.

Both the original song and the new song are composed by M M Keeravani. The film, produced by Allu Aravind, also has a special appearance by megastar Chiranjeevi which was recently filmed in Hyderabad. It is expected to hit the screens in Summer 2009.

People of the Telugu film industry opined that she would fill the gap left behind by Soundarya. Now, Sneha reportedly changed her trend. The police today arrested Talli Telangana party leader and former heroine Vijayshanti at Indira Park, Hyderabad, where she was agitating for getting house sites to the poor and downtrodden sections. Later, she was released. Talking to the media, Vijayshanti said that her arrest was a big humiliation to the entire "Adapadachulu" of Telangana. The producers of the Telugu version are planning to film the movie in a similar manner. Anushka, whose recent sizzling performance in Baladoor had male hearts racing, will no doubt give a great performance as a mafia don"s moll who is out to take revenge. She has acted in her one and only Tamil film Rendu opposite Madhavan, which didn't make much of an impact at the box-office. Now that Anushka's has demanded and got her Rs. 1 crore, she has become the second heroine since Ileana to reach that figure.

V.N.Aditya's production and directorial venture Rainbow is gearing up to release on 2nd of October. Happy Days fame Rahul, Sindhu Menon, Sonal Chauhan (Jannat fame) are in the lead. Unit met the press today at Hampi restaurant. Aditya, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, singer Sunita, music director Nihal, hero Rahul, Sonal Chauhan and others attended the event.
Paruchuri said, 'I am happy that Aditya also turned producer. This film has all kinds of feel and emotions. Rahul's character can be related by every one'.
Interesting snippet about the film is that 5 directors acted in this film. Rajamouli, Samudra, Srinu Vaitla and Kodi Ramakrishna played short roles in the film.

'16 DAYS' audio launch next month

The audio launch of the bilingual film titled as '16 DAYS' will be held on October 16. Aravind and Charmme are doing the lead roles in this film which will hit the theatres in Tamilnadu named as 'Ladam'. The audio of the Tamil version of the film has already hit the music stores. Directed by Prabhu Solomon, '16 DAYS' is being produced by D.Y.Chowdary and Mahesh Babu under the banner of Cosmos Entertainment. The film has already wrapped up its production and now the post-production work is being finished at a rapid pace.

Gopichand has graduated into a league of big stars. After Lakshyam, he proved that producers can bank on his image and he can actually pull single handedly openings. His market and range has increased. Now, comes another mass entertainer from him. As his latest release, Shouryam is gearing up for Sep 25th release, he spoke to Telugucinema.com at the producer’s office in Hyderabad. Excerpts from the interview..

What is Shouryam all about?
Shouryam is complete commercial movie. A wedding feast that includes the menu to suit everyone’s tastes! When I heard the script, what impressed me was the way it was told and structured. Screenplay is interesting. Human emotions are blended so nicely in a mass entertainer.
What made you to introduce cinematographer Shiva as director as he doesn’t have any prior experience?
I didn’t give him chance because he is an established cameraman but his narrative skills impressed me. After the narration, I came to conclusion that even if he executes it very blandly, it can pass the muster. Such is the narration. After first copy arrived, I felt happy that he proved beyond my expectations. I am sure he will go places after this movie.

Anushka stays away from media

Sexy starlet Anushka is so upset with the media with that she refuses to talk to journalists for a one to one chat. Although two of her big films – Chintakayala Ravi and Shouryam – are hitting the screens in a few days, she says no to ‘interviews’ to websites and a section of ‘news channels’. Anushka is miffed with the news channels for reporting that ‘accident’ on the sets of ‘Baladoor’ in which a junior artiste drowned in river Godavari.

Rajnikan'ts 'Robo' stills leaked

Ace director Shankar’s magnum opus with Tamil superstar Rajnikant, Robot, is currently shooting two songs in Machu Pichu in Peru. Rajnikant and Aishwarya Rai are singing duets in this foreign land. Six photos of the movie have found their way into Peru-based newspapers and therefore, to India, despite the director prohibiting even the use of mobile fans at the shooting spot to prevent photos from being leaked. According to grapevine, Tamanna has expressed her displeasure as her role is not ‘important’ and nor it is lead role. Buzz is that she recently learned that Parvathi is getting more cake than her in the movie, hence Tamannah is planning to quit the project. But nothing has officially been said. Currently, director Trivikram seems to be cajoling her to explain how important her role is.Tamannah, on the other hand, is rising starlet in Tamilnadu and has her hands full there. That’s why, she is not interested to play second fiddle to any other heroine.

Ace director Krishnavamsi threw a special birthday party for his wife Ramayakrishna in Chennai on Sunday. It was belated birthday party. It helps get the grease (make-up) to sit on the faces smoothly. Recently, a specail photoshoot was done by Kamal at AVM Studios in Chennai under tight security. Apart from Kamal, the film’s lead actresses - Trisha and Shriya, and also Hemamalini who is playing another key role had participated in the shoot. Our Telugu hero Venaktesh, who also plays vital role in the movie, will join the shoot later this year, while the regular shoot would commence after Dussera.

Audio of Ekaluvyudu released

Audio of Eka'LuvU'du starring Uday Kiran and Kriti is released today at Raavi Narayana Reddy auditorium. K.Ramakrishna (KRK) is directing the film for Medikonda Amarchand and Medikonda Venkata Muralikrishna is the presenter. K.S.Rama Rao and B.Gopal released the audio Cd and cassette respectively. Udaykiran and Raviraja Pinisetty received the first copies. Medikonda Venkata Muralikrishna announced that the film will release for Dasara. He further added, 'Supreme audio company, which distributed audio of my previous films Sureedu, Narasimha Naidu, is releasing this audio for this one too. Producer, music director, director and cinematographer are making debut with this film'. K.S.Rama Rao and Devi Vara Prasad praised Medikonda on how Narasimha Naidu smashed all the records. At the same time, they also touched on several other production issues too. K.S.Rama Rao said, 'Medikonda went ahead of all of us with just one film - Narasimha Naidu'. Devi Vara Prasad said, 'Mrugaraju, Deviputrudu and Narasimha Naidu released in the same year, almost at the same time. Medikonda gave us a big blow with Narasimha Naidu. He smashed all the records. Even though this is a small film, I am sure this will stand out as a big film'. He further added, 'Here is my request to K.S.Rama Rao and C.Kalyan. Even after paying 2.5 Lakhs a day for the artist, often artists force the producers to pay even for the conveyance charges, which is increasing even more burden to the producer. If they can look into such things, it will help producers a lot'. Responding to it, C.Kalyan said, 'It is unfortunate but that is the truth. Solution would be to make films with those who cooperate. Encourage new talent'. Udaykiran said that Gunde Jallumandhi gave him a new lease of life. 'I hope this film will provide me with further boost. We thought of this film almost 2 years ago. I am happy that at least it happened now.

Audio of Kasipatnam Choodara Babu released

MSM Venkatasai Cinepark banner is producing Kasipatnam choodara Babu with Anand (Photo fame) in the lead and in the direction of Maddirala Venkat. Audio of the film is released in Prasad Labs. Madhava Reddy, Manohar Reddy and Srinivasa Reddy are the producers. Chakri composed music. C.Kalyan released the audio of the film. Krishna Bhagavan and Jayaprakash Reddy released the audio CD. Talking on this occassion, C.Kalyan said, 'I know the producer for a while. He made Premapanjaram and then stayed away for some time. HE is coming back with a youthful love story. Music by Chakri and camera work by Jawahar Reddy will stand out'.
Chakri said that he is introducing a new singer - Mehabooba Ali, who participated in Vaar parivaar program. Krishna Bhagavan said that the producers are planning a film with this director for a while now. 'In itially they registered the title C/O Platform. But then people suggested that it might not be a good idea to title a film being directed by debut director', said Krishna Bhagavan. Jayaprakash Reddy said that Vamsi is his favorite director. 'Coming from that school, I have good confidence in Maddirala', said Jayaprakash Reddy.

Srihari Nanu to direct Bhoomika's production

Srihari Nanu was introduced as a director with 'Sathyabhama' featuring Bhoomika and Sivaji in the lead roles. He did not direct any other film after this. Srihari Nanu is soon going to direct a film with Bhoomika. Bharat Thakur her husband is preparing to produce it on DownTown Productions banner. It is also learnt that after completing this movie, Bhoomika herself will direct a film.

'Mrugam' acclaimed by directors

'Mrugam' evolved by dubbing 'Mirugam' which is originally a Tamil film starring Sai Pradeep(Adi) and Padma Priya in the lead roles. The movie now dubbed in Telugu was screened exclusively for the directors of the film fraternity on 21st at Prasad's Preview Theatre, Hyderabad. The film having the storyline of a hunky village man who later suffers from the dreadful disease was portrayed brilliantly which attained rave review from the directors who saw the film on the premiere show. On this occasion directors A.Sagar, VV Vinayak, Krish, Narayana Murthy, Muthyala Subbaiah, N Shankar, Ravi Raja Pinisetty and Samudra spoke to the audience. HariShankar to direct NTR-Bujji's next

Acquainted fact is that erstwhile VV Vinayak made his maiden venture by directing the movie 'Adi' starring NTR in the lead. Lakshmi Narasimha Productions made the movie produced by Nallamalapu Srinivas together with Bellamkonda Suresh & Nagalakshmi. The movie became a sensational hit in the past. 'Adi' is the movie that rendered laurels and stardom for NTR and also acclaimed recognition to VV Vinayak as a director. After this blockbuster, the combination of NTR and Nallamalapu Srinivas didn't make it together yet again on the silver screen. On the same vein, NTR recalled the past on the occasion of the audio launch of 'Chinthakayala Ravi'. The dais witnessed a surprising announcement from NTR that he will be doing a film with N Srinivas shortly. Sources have revealed that Hari Shankar, the man behind 'Shock' starring Ravi Teja in the lead, is going to direct this soon to be launched movie.

Anushka and her whopping one crore

The Tamil film 'Billa' starring Ajith and Nayantara is being remade in Telugu with Prabaas playing the lead role. Actress Anushka has been roped in to play the part that Nayantara performed in a flamboyant way. Nayantara sizzled on screen with terrific costumes and even featured in a two piece bikini in the film. After the producers of the Telugu version highlighted the fact that Anushka too should act wearing a two piece bikini, the actress consented but then has asked for a whopping amount of rupees one crore. The producers are reportedly okay with this. 'Billa' was shot extensively in 'Little India' in Malaysia in a stylish, youthful and extravagant manner. Audiences loved the cinematography, background music and costumes amalgamated with the good looks of all the actors. The Telugu version too is expected to follow the same pattern. Anushka is a very successful actress in Telugu films and has it in her to recreate the same magic that Nayantara had successfully done. Anushka had featured in one Tamil film 'Rendu' alongside Madhavan but then the film didn't do so well at the box office. With Anushka's remuneration reaching a crore of rupees she becomes the second highest paid Telugu actress after Ileana.

'Junction' reaches finale

Leo Entertainments is making the film 'Junction' starring debutant Ravindranath, son of Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao and Naina playing the lead roles. 'Junction' is produced by B Ramakrishna and directed by Anil Krishna. The making of this film has reached a finale except two of the songs which is yet to be canned. Speaking on this occasion producer B Ramakrishna said, "In accordance with Ravindranath's body language, and the story formed by Paruchuri Brothers, Anil Krishna has envisaged the movie with his slick directional skills." Except for two songs, the shooting has been completed. Four massive sets had been constructed at Annapurna 7-Acres, Nanakramguda for this film. The dubbing work for this film has been completed and re-recording is in progress. The audio will be released by the end of this month. The makers are planning to release the movie in the 3rd week of October.

Srihari Srikanth in one

Thota Venkateswara Reddy, head of Sai Rupa Creations, the maker of films like 'Student', 'Sawal', has now made plans to do a high budget movie starring Srihari and Srikanth in the lead cast. Arjun, who formerly worked under Kodi Ramakrishna in the direction division, is making his debut venture as a director with this film. For this flick with the first time combination of Srihari and Srikanth, the lead heroines to play opposite the stars and supporting actors are yet to be finalized. Producer has made plans to start canning for this film in the month of October.

'Manthra' Kalyan Ram's film stars Sivaji

Producer Kalyan Ram made his first film 'Manthra' on Generation Next banner starring Charmme and Sivaji playing the hero and heroines. The movie was directed by a debutant Tulasi Ram who paved way for an acclaimed hit. Kalyan Ram who tasted the fruit of success with this first venture, is now planning to enter his next project. The proposed flick stars Sivaji in the lead role. Ramakrishna, who worked as an associate for director Venky in the film 'Kabadi Kabadi', is set to direct this movie which will be his maiden venture. 5 crores for ’Puli’ Pawan Kalyan film

Rated as one of the most top shot cinematographers in the Indian cinema, Binod Pradhan has been known for his films such as ’Parinda’ ’Khamoshi’ ’Devdas’ and others. Now, he is making his debut in Telugu with the film ’Puli’ starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by S J Suryah. There is news that Binod is charging a whopping Rs 5 crores for this venture and true to the price he has been working real hard on coming up with some of the finest lighting effects and camerawork.

Shriya in trouble

CHENNAI: Shriya Saran is in trouble over her Hollywood assignments. The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) plans to take action against the actress for ignoring actor Dhanush starrer project for her foreign assignments.

Shriya took an advance from producer Murugesan to star opposite Dhanush, son-in-law of Rajnikant. She was supposed to start working on the film after finishing a shooting schedule for Gemini Films with the same actor, sources from the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) said.
"The action is being taken after Murugesan’s complaint, endorsed by his director Vetrimaran. Its terms have been communicated to Shriya," the source added.

Shriya has denied the charges.
According to sources close to Shriya, she deposited the undisclosed fee for the untitled Murugesan film with the South Indian Artistes Association (SIAA) pointing out she is busy with Hollywood commitments - "The Other End Of The Line" produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and the post-production schedule of "What’s Cooking Stella?" being directed by Canada-based director Deepa Mehta and her brother Dilip.
Shriya is reportedly stumped over the whisper campaign against her in the south Indian film industry. Shriya hit the bull’s eye when she was cast opposite Tamil superstar Rajnikant in "Sivaji, The Boss" (2006). The film directed by Shankar broke all box office records. Shriya’s current Indian assignments include "Kandaswamy", K.S. Ravi Kumar’s "Jaggubhai" and "Marmayogi" opposite Vikram and it also stars actor-turned-politician Sarath Kumar and thespian Kamal Haasan. "All her major Tamil projects will get into trouble if TFPC takes action against her," an industry source added. Shriya has 37 films under her belt. Of those 31 are in south Indian languages. She has also tried her luck in Hindi films with "Thoda Thum Badlo Thoda Hum", "Aawarapan," "Mission Istaanbul" and "Ek, The Power of One". But all the films flopped.

Nayanatara to pair up with Prabhas again

It is well aware that Anushka was selected as heroine opposite Prabhas for a film to be directed by Meher Ramesh. Now, Nayanatara was selected as another heroine for the movie. Now, the audiences have to wait and watch as to who would get the chance to wear the swimsuit in the movie between the two heroines. For Nayanatara this is the second film with Prabhas, with Yogi being the first movie. For Anushka this is the debut combination with the hero. It is worth mentioning here that the film is the remake of the recent hit movie ‘Billa’ starring Ajit in Tamil. Moreover, a film with a similar subject was already done by the late NT Rama Rao long ago as ‘Yugandhar’. The producer is planning to launch the shooting on October 9 as the Dasara gift and continue the shooting for three days. Later, the entire unit would shift to Bangkok for the next schedule. The producer is making efforts to release the film in April.

Chiru on the move

HYDERABAD: In his first public appearance after launching the Praja Rajyam last month, Telugu superstar-turned-politician Chiranjeevi on Saturday met weavers and their families in an Andhra Pradesh district and promised to solve their problems if his party was voted to power.

His surprise visit to the handloom weaving centre in Sircilla town in Karimnagar was significant as it has witnessed a spate of suicides by weavers during last few years. As many as 400 weavers committed suicide in the town during last one decade. Chiranjeevi described as heart-rending the plight of weavers and said paying compensation to their families was not a solution to their problems. He promised to ensure that weavers get the work to feed their families. "Gandhiji had once said that handloom weaving will usher in a revolution but today it is unfortunate that weavers are forced to end their lives," he said, adding that Sircilla had become synonymous with suicides. The actor promised that if voted to power his party would ensure that weavers from Sircilla don’t have to migrate to other states and other countries for jobs.
Sources said that Chiranjeevi has planned a few more surprise visits. His visit could be either to a social welfare hostel, a residential school, hospital or to a village where farmers were facing problems getting fertilizer. Mr. Chiranjeevi is said to be keen on ensuring that his visits do not send out a wrong message about his party’s views on Andhra Pradesh as being either ‘integrationist or separatist”. It is likely that his next such surprise visit will be to a remote village in the Rayalaseema region, followed by another quick trip to some place in the coastal districts, most probably a flood-affected area. There has been some discussion on the subject of Mr. Chiranjeevi’s surprise visits in the party’s core committee meetings. However, Saturday’s visit to Sircilla created a flutter in party circles and it did not appear to have gone well with senior leaders who migrated to the PR from other parties. Unwilling to be quoted though, some leaders said the party presidents’ public appearance on Saturday was like giving a head start to PR aspirants from the Telangana region when it came to elections (Hindu)

Is it the heroes hurting AP fighters

Is it the heroes that are hurting the livelihood of the fighters? Well! At least that is what they are told, says AP fighters association president P.Satish. The association has become vocal again and this time they have taken up hunger strike in the compound of Film Chamber.
Keeping the situation of the local fighters for films, a rule is passed in 1996 that would require 50-50 ratio of fighters, if the fight master is hired from other languages. 'But that rule is not being followed and we are struggling for chances', says the AP fighters association. They further added, 'Even though this struggle is going on for last 12 years, we are being cajoled for no good. Federation members Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Thammareddy Bharadwaja, K.S.Ramarao, O.Kalyan and others know that we have a genuine reason. They agree to our woes. But there is no resolution so far. Even thought his concern is taken to the notice of Producers council and federation, we are being told that heroes are not in favor of that. That really hurts us'.
As per their claim, fight masters Ram Laxman, Vijay, Ganesh, Horseman Babu and others are members of Chennai federation. 'For those producers, who say that these fighters from outside are being used for the lack of local talent, they should remember Raju, Vicky and other fight master who did a great job here', said P.Satish.

MAA failed to recognize me: Dasari

'I am the one who strived for the establishment of MAA and I am the one to play the key role in getting Chiranjeevi elected as the first MAA president. However, MAA did not recognize me', said Dasari Narayana Rao. He attended the MAA meet that was organized to facilitate the national award winners - Satish (director of hope), D.Ramanaidu (Hope producer), Sukanya (producer of Kamli), KNT Sastry (director of Kamli) and Bhargav (producer and director of animation film Kittu).
Newly elected president of MAA, Murali Mohan, announced several key changes in the association. Now the channel is open for the other language film artists and makers to join MAA. And MAA also announced 70 thousand towards the eye surgery for Mukkuraju, who is the industry for the last 50 years as dancer and supporting artist. Given his financial position, MAA decided to pay the above amount. Dasari Narayana Rao also gave out 50 thousand rupees while Ramanaidu and ATA (American Telugu Association) donated 10 thousand each.
Talking about the national awards, Dasari said, 'Ramanaidu lived in his character in Hope. With his national award, he proved that he is head on with his son Suresh Babu in making films'. He further emphasized the need for more of such films. He also remembered that he won 4 nationals for Meghasandesam and 3 for Kante Koothurne Kanu film.
Though he appreciated all the new agenda that Murali Mohan is going with, he suggested that MAA should recognize and support the low wage artists. 'Rather than attending to the families after the death of the artists, it would be a good idea to support them while they are alive', said Dasari. Dasari also added that the industry now lacks the discipline. 'Those who are creating problems for the producer should be kept away by the producers council. If the artists cannot bring the discipline in, they should step aside and leave the way', said Dasari.

Somewhere in this blog I mentioned that whenever life decides something for me, I immediately take a decision on top of that so that I always managed to make it work for me one way or the other. Once I decided to start my video library “Movie House” at Ameerpet, with the Rs.20,000/- capital I got, I went about trying to buy quality types of video films and in the process I trusted a friend’s father who deals in it and he sold me faulty tapes worth Rs.10,000/- which either don’t play or get stuck in the video players, thereby reducing my capital to half even before I started. So by the time I started my shop I barely had a 100 workable tapes. Also every one concerned told me that it was a very bad idea to start a shop in the Ameerpet area as it’s predominantly a lower middle/middle class population who lives there who cannot afford a VCR. And also that it can’t compete with a library called “Fantasy” which used to be on the Punjagutta Road as the rich Banjara Hills crowd only patronize that library. Once it started my library became so successful within a month and Fantasy went out of business in a few months. Now the same theorists said that these days everybody owns a VCR. Also “Movie House” has a better parking space than ‘Fantasy’ etc.

NagaChaitanya forays to tinsel town

On the ceremonial occasion of matinee idol Akkineni Nageswara Rao's birthday, the most anticipated launch of Naga Chaintanya's first movie was held. We had tears in our eyes : Ram Charan Tej

"We had tears in our eyes," reveals Ram Charan Tej, recalling the poignant moment he shared with his father-actor Chiranjeevi after enacting a scene together for his upcoming film. The actor wistfully recalls that Chiru was reluctant to leave the set and was sitting quietly in a chair red-eyed. "I thought we could do a couple of films together but dad surprised us with his decision to join politics," he says as an afterthought.

Entrepreneurturned-actor

Interestingly, the son of Chiranjeevi initially aspired to be an entrepreneur but fate had other plans for him and made him an actor. "I never realised that a golden opportunity was lying at my door and I was scouting for it at other places. One day I broached the idea of taking up acting and dad just agreed," disclosed Charan who honed his acting and dancing skills in London. He debuted with Chirutha and though it got a big response, it was labelled as a demo of the rookie. "Actually that was what we intended to dish out and we were satisfied with the final outcome," reasons the actor, who admires director Puri Jagannath for showcasing his varied talents.

The father-son jodi
"I was always fascinated by the Amitabh-Abhishek jodi and I enjoyed watching them together.
Similarly, I dreamt of doing at least a few films with my dad but now I think it may not be possible," he rues. He had to pester his reluctant father for a special appearance in his next periodic film. "Finally, he agreed to do one scene and a song. Wrapping up that scene was the most touching moment of my life," says Tej.
He also brands Chiru as his best critic and watches the movies of the famed dancer to fine-tune his bop. "Undoubtedly, he is graceful," he opines.
Charan admits that he has matured with time and has learned to take the highs and lows of life in his stride.
He says, "I have realised that politics is a different ball game altogether. My father is sensitive and he cannot see anybody suffer.I feel that it is his empathy that differentiates him from regular politicians.”
On his muchawaited epic
"It‘s a reincarnation plot and the period is about 400 years ago. The film travels from past to present but the mainstay is an enchanting love story," reveals the actor, who claims that it was challenging to portray the demanding role. "At times we spend 3 to 4 hours for just one shot," reveals Charan who will unveil his new look in this periodic epic. Later, he will be joining hands with promising director Bhaskar, who is known for family entertainers, for another film. "We had a discussion and Bhaskar also felt the need to try a new genre," announces Ram, who seems to prefer variety.
On his personal life
"At times, I do feel I am missing out on regular life but I freak out on foreign locales and I also love shopping," informs the new-age star who surprisingly feels stressed when he is not on the sets. "Probably, work is my stressbuster. Acting has become a paid holiday for me," says the young man for whom family is sacrosanct and dedicates all his leisure time to spend quality time at home.

'Marma Yogi' stars Venkatesh

The first copy of Ankusam directed and produced by VK Vijaykumar Reddy under the banner of Pakhya Celluloids with Srinath and Ritesh as heroes would be ready by September 25. One audio launched

The audio of One directed by Krishna Teja, presented by Master NTR and produced by Nalla Charan Reddy under the banner of 9 Entertainments with Vadde Naveen and Arti Khaitan in the lead was launched at Prasad Labs preview theatre in Hyderabad recently. Ramesh Prasad of Prasad's I-Max attended the program as chief guest and unveiled the audio and handed over the first cassette to Adilabad MP Indrakaran Reddy. Later, MM Keeravani launched the audio CDs and handed over the first piece to Achireddy. Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Prasad said, “While looking at the film unit, one would get the feel of an ocean of youth. When a film is brought out with commitment it would become a definite hit. When films become hits, the industry would be healthy and wealthy." Keeravani sais, "I noticed some typical points while noticing the title and the name of the hero. The first and last letters of the hero in Telugu 'Va' and 'N' together spells the title of this movie. Ramalingeswara Rao, the producer of Vadde Naveen's film Pelli, had asked me to score music for the movie but I could not do it. However, the film has turned a big director Vasant, the protege of Manisharma. All the songs in the film are melodious and we are sure that the audio would be a big hit and hence agreed to market the audio through our 'Vel' Records." Director said, "We are planning to release the film in October." Camera is by RK Senapati, dialogues are by P Trinathbabu, editing is by Upendra, while story, screenplay and direction are by Krishnateja.

Dongala Bandi with 24 comedians

The film Dongala Bandi with Allari Naresh and Tanya in the lead roles has completed the talkie part and is now in post production. The film will be released in October. Vegnesa Satish is being introduced as director with this film. GSK Naidu is the producer.

Mallepuvvu to release on Sept 19

Bhumika Chawla has turned to more performance-oriented roles after marriage. She has also been encouraged by the success of Anusuya, where she played the title role (as a TV journalist).In Mallepuvvu, she plays the title role opposite debut hero Muralikrishna. Ileana wants Nayanatara’s ‘money’

Krishnavamsi, Nagarjuna combination again?

Krishnavamsi and Nagarjuna names remind of Ninna Pelladatha. It is undoubtedly a trend setter in every way. Even to date, the film and the songs feel fresh. After Ninne Pelladatha, the duo worked for Chandralekha. The film failed at the box office but still stands as one of the favorite films for KV fans. It is a long gap after that they worked together. Industry sources now say that producer C.Kalyan, who made Chandamama in the direction of Krishnavamsi, is putting in all his efforts to get this combination back again.

At present, Krishnavamsi is working on Sasirekha Parinayam (not confirmed yet) with Tarun and Genelia in the lead. Sunkara Madhumurali is the producer. Already there is news that KV might direct 100th film for Srikanth and also that he is planning for another thriller Rudrakhsa. Also, director Teja has announced a film for his home banner in the direction of KV. So with all these commitments, it has to be seen if C.Kalyan can pull together this project in near future.

Audio of Kausalya Supraja rama starring Srikanth, Sivaji, Charmi, Gauri Munjal in the lead is released at Ramanaidu Studios. D.Ramanaidu is producing the film for Suresh Productions banner. Venkatesh, who attended the event as chief guest, released the audio CD and gave the first copy to Srikanth while Suresh Babu's son Abhiram released the cassette and gave it to Charmi. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Brahmanandam, Kota, Chalapati Rao, Hema, Sivaji, Siva Reddy, and others attended the event. Talking about the film, Ramanaidu said that he had put efforts in the film comparable to his Premnagar. 'I am sure this will be a big hit', said Ramanaidu. Suryaprasad is directing the film. Aditya music company is distributing the audio into the market.

Ek Police will be bigger than my Ankusam Kodi

Audio of Nagendra Babu starring Ek Police is released at Raavi Narayana Reddy Auditorium. Kodi Ramakrishna is directing this film for Rushya productions banner. Allu Aravind, VV Vinayak, Srinu Vaitla, Dasarath, C.Kalyan, Koti and the unit of the film attended this event. VV Vinayak released the audio and gave it to Nallamalupu Bujji. CD is released by Allu Aravind and VV Vinayak.

VV Vinayak said that he saw the trailors and that they are giving positive assurance on the film. Allu Aravind also said positive words on the film.
Nagendra Babu remembered an incident from the past. 'During the making of Yamudiki Mogudu, we took Koti as music director. I was a little skeptical on how he would deliver. He sent a sample of Andham Hindolam song to Annayya and Annayya was immediately impressed. Koti gave excellent music for this film', said Nagendra Babu. He further added, 'I am always on my toes when I am working with two directors. One is Krishnavamsi and the other is Kodi Ramakrishna. I already worked with Krishnavamsi in Chandamama and proved the actor in me. Ek Police will complete the loop', said Nagendra Babu.
Kodi Ramakrishna spoke in his usual style. 'If we make a film, it should talked about for decades to come. Ek Police will fall into that category. Society is afraid of police. Ek Police sets things on track', said Kodi Ramakrishna.

Naresh decided on 1film an year with Deviprasad

'I have mostly done comedy films. But this is one film that gave me satisfaction in my profession. I decided that I will do atleast one film in the direction of Deviprasad every year', said Allari Naresh talking about Blade Babjee, which is getting ready to release on 2nd of October.

S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Chitra, Sailaja and Sri Krishna and the orchestra team have delivered a most promised distinct and memorable evening with Telugu music in the Bay Area on September 13, 2008. Bay Area Telugu Association (BATA) organized S.P. Balasubrahmanyam Telugu Musical Concert on September 13, 2008 at Chabot College Auditorium, Hayward, California. Ravi Tax Services and Raji Insurance have served as the Grand Sponsors of event. Also, this event was sponsored by Western Union, Channel Real Estate, and Swagat Indian Cuisine. Also, BharatFamily.com and Chimatamusic.net promoted the event.
Tickets for the musical extravaganza were almost sold out well in advance and the auditorium was full with all generations of audience. Vijaya Aasuri of BATA welcomed S.P. Balasubrahmanyam (SPB) onto the stage thanking him for giving BATA an opportunity to host his concert for the sixth time since 1997. In his introductory speech, SPB thanked BATA for hosting his team and he always enjoys coming to the Bay Area because of audience's love and encouragement that they have been receiving. Vijaya also introduced SP Sailaja, Chitra, Sri Krishna and the orchestra team on to the stage. Audience welcomes all artists with a big round of applause and excitement.
SPB and the team of his singers started the program with "vandEmAtam" song. Right after this, SP Sailaja sang "Om namaSSivAya" song from sAgara sangamam movie, which she in fact danced in the movie. Then, SPB sang "antA rAma mayaam" song from Sri Ramadaasu movie. Chitra started with a beautiful classical song (Thyaaga raaja keertana), "pADalEnu pallavainA.. bhAsha rAni dAnanu" from Sindhu Bhairavi movie. Sri Krishna sang Veturi's "yamahO nagari" song from chUDAlani undi movie. SPB mentioned that Sri Krishna is turning up as a nice singer and he wished Sri Krishna would sing many more songs in the near future. For Chitra’s song "yE SwAsa lO chEritE", SPB made a special mention that no other female singer would ever be able to sing it like Chitra. Then, SPB and Chitra sang "bangAru kODi peTTa" song from gharAnA moguDu movie. Other songs that were sung in the concert are "nAmpalli Station kADa rAjA lingO", “jallantA kavvinta kAvAlilE”, “telusA manasA”, “uppongE gOdAvari”, “yamunA teeram.. sandhyA rAgam”, “mounam gAnE edagamani”, “balapam paTTi bhAma vaLLO”, Jalsa Title song from Jalsa, etc. The final song in the concert was "antaryAmi.. alasiti, solasiti" song sung by SPB. SPB and his team thanked the audience and the organizers for this opportunity. For every song, the artists received a big applause from the audience. When SPB polled the audience to see if they need a break, audience chose to forgo the break to keep the music going. There was a lot of appreciation and applause by the audience for all the songs presented in the concert.
During his commentary and comments in between the songs, SPB praised several of prominent song writers and composers, such as Veturi, Ilaya Raja, SiriVennala SeetaRam Sastry & Keeravani, etc., describing them as a few very best Telugu music artists. He also shared his fond memories with music legends like “Mama” K.V.Mahadevan, S.P.Kodanda Pani, Satyam, Ramesh Naidu, J.V.Raghavulu, Rajan-Nagendra & Chakravarthy etc. During the show, SPB introduced his all of Orchestra members (Venu Raju, Bala Raju, Murthy, Swamy, Ravi Sankar, Alexander, Srinivas, Praveen, Chinna, etc).

After a failure like ‘Atithi’ Maheshbabu took a very long gap for his next movie. Now he is getting ready for his next flick to be directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Singanamala Ramesh. The film is most likely to go for regular shooting in October. Chances are bright for the launch of the shooting by Dasara. Meanwhile, it is reliably learnt that Gautham Menon of ‘Gharshana’-fame also narrated a storyline to Maheshbabu and the latter too was very much impressed with the story and gave his nod. This movie is also most likely to go to sets very soon. It is further learnt that Maheshbabu had decided to shed his image and decided to do different movies by keeping his image aside. He is inviting directors and writers to bring novel subjects for hearing.

‘Neninthe’ likely to be released on Dec 24

Directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by DVV Danaiah on the banner of Universal Media, ‘Neninthe’ with Raviteja as hero and introducing Siya as the female lead is now very busy in shooting. The producer is making all out efforts to release the film on December 24 by completing all the shooting and post-production formalities very soon. The audiences had high expectations on the success of the movie as the film is coming in the combination of Puri Jagannath and Raviteja, which had produced several hits like ‘Itlu Sravani Subrahmanyam, Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi’. At the same time, the combination of Danaiah and Raviteja also proved successful with two successive hits like Krishna and Dubai Seenu. The film would be a definite hit and we are confident that it would surpass all the earlier records in Raviteja’s career, says the producer. Chakri scored music for the movie and the producer is making efforts to release the audio in November.

Bollywood heroine Bhoomika made her debut into Telugu films through ‘Yuvakudu’. Though she faced a couple of failures, she made some attempts to knock the doors of Bollywood. Meanwhile, she played heroine in Missamma and her film career took an unexpected twist. Work starts on Marmayogi

Director K S Ravi Kumar said in an interview that the historical background to the Rangarajan Nambi role of Kamal in 'Dasavataram' is an intro to 'Marmayogi.' This is but a small example for the reason behind the grandeur of 'Marmayogi.' 'Marmayogi' has a historical background and features Hema Malini, Trisha, Shriya and Vaiyapuri. Others in the cast are being chosen. Music is by AR Rehman. Kamal has already briefed Rehman about the songs. Marmayogi is jointly co-produced by Pyramid Saimira and Rajkamal Films. Photo session with Kamal, Trisha and Shriya has just been completed. The 3 of them are in period costumes and make-up. This photo session took place in secret at a studio in Nungambakkam.

Varun Sandesh iterates 'Polladhavan'

Shekhar Kammula's 'Happy Days' delivered a noteworthy performance from a new face, Varun Sandesh. The actor is presently working for the film 'Kotha Bangaru Lokam' which is directed by Srikanth Addala. Sri Venkateswara Creations presents this movie which is produced by ace producer 'Dil' Raju. Priyamani in Mayagadu

Priyamani is all set to act in the lead in a movie to be produced simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Yalamanchi Ravichand, who gave hits like Siva and Sitaramudu is producing the movie under Sambasiva Creations with Govardhan making his directorial debut. Producer Ravichand explained, “Presently, we are producing Mayagadu under our banner starring Venu and Charmee in the lead. We liked Govardhan’s story and he also narrated his story to Priyamani. She was also impressed by the storyline and agreed to do the movie. We plan to launch the regular shooting schedules from October first week simultaneously for all the three languages. Navneet Kaur in action role

Terror, a new film that Nisha Neha Productions is producing in association with AA Arts, comes in the wake of hits like Police, Deva, Amma Nagamma and Amma Durgamma that the banner has produced in the past. The shooting schedule was completed recently and the movie has gone into post-production. Co-producer A. A. N. Sastry was quoted as saying, “So far, Telugu audiences knew Navneet Kaur as a glamour heroine. But, in our film she has taken on the role of an action heroine for the first time in her career. We are trying to release the film in the first half of October.” Navneet Kaur explained, “Apart from romantic dances, I also did some risky fight sequences in this movie. I am confident that I will earn a different image as an action heroine with this movie.” Director L Sanjeeva elaborated, “Our film will thrill audiences. Mahesh’s film to take off

Finally, Mahesh Babu’s film is all set to go to the sets in October. Director Trivikram has just recently finished a special photoshoot on the film’s lead pair – Mahesh and Parvathi Melton. 'Rain Bow' to release on Oct 2

After finishing Digital Intermediate work, director VN Aditya's Rain Bow is all set for grand release in the holiday season of Dussera. Aditya is planning to release the movie on October 2nd. The film stars Rahul of Happy Days fame, Sonali Chouhan of Jannat fame and Sindhu Menon in the lead roles.
“We have finished the shooting long back but we wanted the movie to have highest visual quality, so the Digital Intermediate work took us long time,” Aditya said about the film’s delay. Chiranjeevi hosts grand Iftar Party

Chiranjeevi promises to speak in Urdu language by next Ramzan. He hosted Iftar party in Hyderabad on Wednesday (September 17, 2008) that was well-attended by prominent Minority leaders, muslim businessmen, and fans from the same community. Chiranjeevi who also acted in couple of Hindi films said that he is not well-versed with the Urdu language but would definitely speak it by next Ramzan.
He also told them that he has several muslim friends in childhood. “Even observed fasts with them during the holy Ramdan festival,” he informed. Much to the delight of the guests at the party, megastar also recited the Arabic alphabets "Alif, Bay, Tay, Say" and wrote them down.

'Hero' flies to Malaysia

Manyam Suryanarayana is presenting the film 'Hero' starring Nithin as hero and 'Ontari' fame Bhavana as the heroine. The popular artist Sudhakar Naidu (GV) makes his maiden directorial venture with this film.The flick is produced by Manyam Ramesh on Manyam Entertainments banner. With an exception of two songs, the shooting for this film has been completed. These songs are going to be reeling in Malaysia soon.

Speaking on this occasion producer Manyam Ramesh said, "with an exception of two songs, the shooting is complete. The remaining two songs will be canned featuring the lead pairs Nithin & Bhavana. The song is choreographed by dance master Noble which is to start shooting from 13th in Malaysia. It is planned to be completed by 22nd of this month. Right now dubbing is in progress at Hyderabad. Vijayshanti caught in mid air

Tension prevailed when the helicopter carrying Telangana agitation leader and actress Vijayashanti today missed its landing point and strayed for a while in the air. It happened when she was on her way to Bhairanpalli in Warangal district to participate in the Telangana Liberation Day. After circling in the surroundings of Warangal, finally the helicopter took to emergency landing at Kadivendi village. The pilot who sensed the trouble finally safe landed the chopper. Some media personnel also traveled with the actress.

NBK fans stir against PR leader

Fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna today staged an agitation in front of the residence of Praja Rajyam Party leader C. Ramachandraiah at Kadapa against his alleged remarks against the actor and family members of NTR. They also burnt the effigy of CRC and demanded apology form him, which otherwise they warned that the agitation would be intensified. He told Idlebrain.com, "We are fully prepared to release the film on October 2nd. But (Nallamulupu) Bujji is a good friend of mine. So I might go for postponement. I value friendship most." Chintakayala Ravi is releasing on October 1. Moreover, Teja said "just now we gave the agreement of the audio to Aditya Music. It might release on September 21 or one day before or after. NTR cameo role in Chintakayala Ravi

As reliable sources say, NTR will make a cameo appearance in a song in Venkatesh starring Chintakayala Ravi. He will appear along with Venkatesh, Anushka and Nikita in the song. It can be recalled that NTR was the chief guest at the audio release function of the film and he shares close ties with producer Nallamalupu Bujji.

It is now official that Chintakayala Ravi will release on 1st of October. 'This Yogi directed film is a full length entertainer with the lead role tailor made for the body language of Victory Venkatesh', said producer Bujji. Venkatesh is playing a software engineer in the film. Audio of the film that released recently is getting good response. Makers are planning to arrange a platinum disk function for this film.

Chiru says no time for debates

As Prajarajyam Party lead by Chiranjeevi says that Congress is their main rival in coming elections, Congress leaders are throwing challenges at Chiranjeevi. Latest is that Annam Ramnaryana Reddy challenged Chiranjeevi for a public debate on the development programs handled by YSR. Even though Chiranjeevi did not respond to this challenge, he answered the question raised by the media on the same. He said that he has many other priority things to handle and debates that will push back his schedules are not necessary for him at this point. He further added, 'I don't have to respond to all kinds of challenges thrown against me'. Chiranjeevi is busy with his schedule and the entire camp is handsful gearing up to go to the people very soon.

Puri Jagan replaced by Vinay Varma

Is overseas distribution worth the pains?

These days, whenever I get a call from one or the other overseas distributor saying that one has bought a particular film's rights in the USA and that one'd like to send a press note informing about the screening, so that local exhibitors can buy the film. Still, it's to be noted that most films will end up in losses to the overseas distributors.It's all the same braggadocio by the moviemakers - that their project has crazy combination and/or good music and/or comedy, and that it'd break all records in Andhra Pradesh and outside India too! How far can such statements be true, when 90 per cent of movies released in the USA are ending up as damp squibs.

Though the distributor might make some money at times, the exhibitor will lose eventually. For example, Bujjigadu came with a lot of promises as it was directed by Puri Jagannath. The film was a disaster for the distributor as well as to to the exhibitor. Similarly, Raviteja's Krishna was one of the highest grocers in the recent times, but his Baladoor that followed was a disaster abroad. Now, with the combination of Puri and Raviteja, people say that the producer was demanding more than a crore of rupees as the selling price of abroad rights, and he might be happier too.
Venkatesh's last hit abroad was Malleeswari; his Aadavaari Maatalaku Arthaale Verule...! ended up with a loss of nearly 20 lakh rupees! Even if we forget the film Tulasi and its totally bad BO result abroad. Now, it's heard that his ready-to-release film Chintakayala Ravi had crossed the one crore mark for the abroad rights. ...Several other films were disastrous too: Pandurangadu, Hare Ram (for the exhibitors), the list goes on... like Ankith, Pallavi, and Friends. Victory, Kathanayakudu, Parugu, Ullasamga... Utsahamga..., while only films like Krishna, Mantra, Gamyam, Ready, etc. made decent money overseas in this year so far. Some films were sold in the name of popular producers or directors who just lent their names to the product without paying a single penny but will get a share in the profits, so that people think it is good film and buy. However, all said and done, the exhibitors will end up in losses after the release, even if the distributor might eventually make some money. Recently, an exhibitor in the NJ bought a film's overseas distribution rights seeing a popular name and ended in loss eventually. The irony is that the same exhibitor bought another film's rights for astronomical price, seeing another producer's name associated with this film.
Market and its potential
Any star-studded film in Telugu will have a "safe bet" of 40-50 lakh rupees approximately, more than which would be a problem for both the distributor and the exhibitor. If the producer is so much confident about the product as to release it on a percentage basis, there'd not be any loss for both the parties. However, our producers do not want to take that risk most of the time and they'll just want the quick buck and want to see the table profit before the release of the film. On the other hand, a low-budget film with less-known cast and a new director, even from a big producer, can have a risk-free investment of 5-15 lakh rupees.One should remember that all small films cannot be Happy Days - there's a Victory or Ankith, Pallavi and Friends for every Happy Days! Similarly, every Krishna may have a Baladoor, every Pokiri a Sainikudu or Atithi, or every Sree Ramadasu a Boss or Don as its successor (now for the King they asking more then a Crore) . Similarly, a Gudumba Shankar or Balu might eventually be followed up by a Jalsa. If one takes a look at this picture, one can understand it's a blind gamble sometimes.
Problems and risks
The biggest problems to Telugu films releasing overseas comes in the form of theater quality and rentals. Most Indian films do not release in good theaters. Good theaters in major metro areas such as New Jersey, San Jose (CA), or Chicago (IL) are owned by corporate companies, which means 40% of gross collections are taken away by them, plus a minimum tax of 7% is levied on the gross. After the first week, their share would be 50%! Thus, the distributor may end up with less than 50% of the gross collections, which means a break-even is possible when the exhibitor in such major cities can make at least 150% of the investment! (For any big budget movie this two weeks are crucial as from the third week usually the film will be coming in web, a pirated copy which will definetly hamper the collections, our producers never talk about that anyways) Imagine the risk of putting in money without having seen the film, or even possibly knowing the story! Can some crazy combination save one's investment?! How many times did a so-called crazy combination click anyway?!
...All these distributors and exhibitors pouring in their hard-earned money into films - whose potential or shortcomings are totally out of our scope of knowledge - and losing money most of the time makes me feel sad. That's the only aspect that inspired me to write this piece of article, and I don't have anything against any distributor, exhibitor, or producer/director, in particular! But, do watch your step, friends, before you tumble into neck-deep cold water!

For her performance in Mohana Krishna Indraganti-directed Ashta Chemma (released on September 5), Swathi has already won rave reviews and the film has turned to be a real comical entertainer.Ashta Chamma is all about Lavanya (Swathi), a hardcore fan of hero Mahesh Babu, whose only ambition is to marry hero Mahesh. The film also casts Nani, Srinivas and Bhargavi, who are making their debut as lead actors for the first time.

Jagapati Babu's Raksha from sorcery is ready

Actor Suman said that Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party had ample chances to come into power in the state. Former heroine Ramya Krishna got elected to the Executive committee of the Movie Artistes Association, getting 292 votes in her favor. Rajiv Kanakala obtained 300 votes. AVS, who recently underwent liver transplantation, got 266 votes. Generally, only the prime posts like President and GS will have the focus in the association elections. But, this time the contest for the executive committee members also went on prestigious lines, inviting stiff fight on the sides.

NBK mourns producer's demise

Nandamuri Balakrishna, who took part in the last rites of producer S. Gopal Reddy at Naidupet on Saturday, said that he just couldn't believe the hard truth that he is no more. It's my luck that I acted in the film Mangammagari Manavadu with Bhargav Arts during the beginning of my career. Murali Mohan elected as MAA Chief

After a week long hungama, the election to Movie Artistes Association (MAA) was held today. The results were announced in the evening. Senior actor and realtor Murali Mohan won the contest for the post of President, trouncing his rival TS Vijay Chander (of Karunamayudu fame) by a big margin of 108 votes. Ahuti Prasad was elected the General Secretary and he defeated Ayyappa P. Sharma (brother of dialogue king Saikumar). The panel of Murali Mohan for election of the 18-member executive committee swept the contest. With this, the two-year-stint of Nagababu (as president) has ended. The elections witnessed interesting moments with the participation of Praja Rajyam President Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, NTR, Kalyanram and several other prominent artistes.

Chintakayala Ravi music launched

Venkatesh’s much-awaited Chintakayala Ravi had its music launch on Sunday evening (September 14, 2008) at Ramanaidu Studios. Hero NTR unveiled the first audio cassette and handed over it to Asian Films representative while audio CD was released by comedian Brahmanandam and director Srinu Vaitla received from him.

NTR who also had done a special guest appearance in a song in the movie was the chief guest the ceremony was well attended by the cast and crew that includes Venkatesh, heroines Anushka and Mamta Mohandas, music composers Vishal - Sekhar, lyricist Chandra Bose, producer Bujji, director Yogie (Yogesh), Suresh Babu, comedian Srinivas Reddy, Chalapathi Rao, Sunil and others. Large number of Venky’s fans attended the ceremony.

I will do a film for Bujji: NTR
On the occasion, NTR recalled his friendship and long association with the film’s producer Bujji. “I am too young to talk about Venkatesh Babai, his success and his stature as actor. I am too small person to speak about Suresh Productions too. At this moment, I want to share an incident with Bujji. While I was doing Student No.1, a lean, dark colored guy with bad dress sense, came to me and introduces himself as Chitra Sai Buji and said that he is producer. He proposed to me to listen to a script done by Vinayak. He brought me Vinayak one day. Both Vinay and Bujji didn’t have looks that we assume to have for a director or producer respectively. So I avoided them for days.
A month later, my mom said that a guy named Bujji is calling everyday to my residence number and bothering daily to talk to me. Just to skip this daily barrage of calls, I called them for a sitting the next day. After 20 minutes of the narration, I said okay for the project and thus born the Aadi, a film that changed my life and career and also Vinay and Bujji’s. But somehow, Bujji could not carry off that success further for various reasons. His burning desire to achieve something made him to produce a film with Venky and Vinay. Their combo - Lakshmi, changed his life and introduced us a bigtime producer. I am happy for his great success although I feel sad for not helping him. I will definitely do a film for him very shortly,” NTR recalled.
He also praised music directors Vishal – Sekhar for their great numbers. “When Bujji gave me the music CD, I wondered how they could do justice to a Telugu film. After listening, my apprehensions evaporated in a minute. I loved that Nahi Chodenge number very much. I congratulate Vishal – Sekhar,” NTR praised.

One of best musical hits in my career: Venky
Venkatesh said the music will be remembered for a long time. “When the title Chintakayala Ravi was announced, it was immediately liked by everyone and speculations began. Regarding music, I am sure this would be one of the biggest musical blockbusters in my career,” he termed. “I thank Chandra Bose the lyricist for being there through out the musical sittings despite his hectic busy schedule and Vishal – Sekhar for coming out with outstanding numbers,” Venky thanked
He also hoped that the film would be bigger hit than the Lakshmi. “Chintakayala Ravi is good family romantic entertainer. I thank writer Kona Venkat and director Yogi for coming up with good film. We had great fun in America. The working atmosphere in USA schedule was fabulous,” he said.

Telugu is musical language: Vishal – Shekar
Vishal – Sekhar, the composers duo, termed Telugu language as the most lyrical and musical language in India. “Even the people here are great lovers of good music. During the film’s shooting we not only met good people, we also made great friendship with them,” they said.
Srinu Vaitla, who came to the ceremony as guest, said the film’s title is apt for a Venky’s film. “The entire team is close to me as Kona Venkat is my long time writer and Bujji is a dear friend. I also hope that Vishal - Sekhar do more Telugu films,” he said.
