Nayanatara goes Anushka way

Nayanatara is turning busy in Telugu again. For the first time, she is going to do a heroine oriented film. With Arundhati’s grand success, many filmmakers in Tollywood are contemplating to do a similar movie with a top heroine in the lead role. Buzz is that M.S.Raju has roped in Nayanatara for his next graphical extravaganza to be directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. Both M.S.Raju and Kodi are planning to come together for another movie, 10 years after their blockbuster graphical movie - Devi. Kodi has confirmed the news that he is doing a film with Nayanatara but he refused to divulge the producer’s name. But we came to know that M.S.Raju is producing it.

NTR injured

NTR, who is returning to Hyderabad from his political tour, met with an accident and had minor injuries. The accident took place at Mote village near Suryapet around 11 pm (on Thursday night). He had minor injuries at eye. Exact cause of accident is not yet known. Along with NTR, his close friend and actor Rajeev Kanakala and another associate also severely injured. They were attended to immediate medical aid at New Life Hospital at Suryapet and later rushed to KIMS hospital in Hyderabad. NTR is returning to Hyderabad from his political tour from Khammam district for a few days rest.

Director of ‘Malli Malli’ committed suicide

Today morning director Raj Adithya was found dead in his hotel room, at Basera, Secundrabad. He has reportedly committed suicide. By nature a calm and kind person, Raj appeared tense at the press meet on March 19th, which apparently was thought as the pressure of the movie release. It is learnt that yesterday evening he arrived in city from Chennai. He was with the unit till late evening to distribute the prints of ‘Malli Malli’. Raj then left to rest and asked the unit members to meet him in the morning. When they arrived at the hotel in the morning, he was found hanging from a fan in his room. He is a born Keralite and was brought up in Chennai, and is presently residing in Chennai. His father Sri Kumaran Thampi is a director, writer and lyricist, who directed about 29 films in Malayalam.

Ravi Teja’s ‘Kick’ barges on May 7th

The release date of ‘Kick’ directed by Surender Reddy of ‘Athanokkade’ fame is slated on 7th May. Starring Ravi Teja and Ileana in the lead cast, producer Venkat is making the film on RR Movies Makers banner. Tamil actor Shyam and Ashmika are playing the supporting lead cast. With the talkie portions done, the crew is busy touring Malaysia now to film the songs. The shooting will wind-up by 20th this month, as reported. Casting Ravi Teja as a betting master, ‘Kick’ is touted to be a mass entertainer made to appease all classes of audience. Other important artists in the film include Brahmanandam, Sunil, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Sayahi Shinde, Jayaprakash Reddy, Ali, Rahgubabu and Jeeva.

Music of the stylish flick ‘Billa’ starring Prabhas and Anushka was launched on 18th March at Silpa Kala Vedika, Hyderabad. Directed by Meher Ramesh, Narendra and Prabhod have produced the film on Gopi Krishna Movies. The event was star studded with a big list of celebrity attendees including Dasari Narayana Rao, Krishnam Raju, Rajamouli, VV Vinayak, Allu Arjun, Gopichand and others. First copy of the audio was released by Dasari Narayana Rao and Krishnam Raju became the recipient. Addressing the guests Dasari Narayana Rao said, “Krishnam Raju’s Gopi Krishna Movies has high production value and earlier it has made many big budget films like ‘Tandra Paparayudu’ that might have cost about 50 cores if made in the present. Amalgamation of uniqueness in ‘Aakasa Ramanna’

The uniquely titled and made film ‘Aakasa Ramanna’ is directed by Ashok of ‘Flash News’ fame, starring ‘Allari’ Naresh, Shivaji, Rajiv Kanakala, Meera Jasmine and Gauri Pandi in the cast. Producer Manyam Ramesh makes the film on Manyam Entertainments banner. The trailer of the film was released today on 18th March and a press meet was convened. For the first time, the filmmaker has taken a daring step to reveal the climax in the first half of the film and narrate the story later. On the new approach, director Ashok said, “It’s a new innovative style of story telling in Telugu cinema. I am grateful to Manyam Ramesh for producing such a profound subject that is also a neat entertainer. Based on Karma Siddhantham, I have made sure the screenplay doesn’t lag or confuse the viewers."

Sangeetha’s new film after marriage

The popular actress amongst Telugu and Tamil audience, Sangeetha got married to playback singer Krish recently. The audio of Prabhas, Anushka starrer, Billa, is all set to hit the stands on the 18th of March. The movie also stars Namitha as the second lady. Krishnam Raju plays a prominent role. The canning of the talkies is completed and the movie is now on it final schedule to film a song. A duet featuring Prabhas and Anushka is underway at a special set erected at Annapurna Studios. Remade as Don starring SRK in Bollywood and Billa with Tamil superstar Ajith, the movie is a stylish saga of a mafia don. The movie has been shot extensively in Malaysia and the producers have left nothing to chance. Jr NTR to appear in Sr NTR khakhi dress

Hyderabad, March 10 : The roadshows of Jr NTR will bring the old spirit and nostalgia of Sr NTR before the Telugu crowds. Jr NTR will appear before the crowds in Khakhi dress, just like Sr NTR did during his chaitanya yatra after launching his Telugu Desam. The speeches and dialogues of Jr NTR will resemble Sr NTR's dialogues in every aspect. Campaign managers of the young Nandamuri star say that Jr NTR has been making a lot of efforts to show what Sr NTR was like to the present generation. Jr NTR will begin his road shows from Ichchapuram on March 12 at 10 a.m.

‘Ananda Thandavam’ to release on 27th March

Starring Siddharth, Tamanna and Rukmini in the cast, ‘Ananda Thandavam’ is directed by AR Gandhi Krishna and produced by V Ravi Chandran on Aaskar Films banner. With the fresh print readied, the film is ready to hit the screens. Producer Ravi Chandran has made plans to release the audio on 13th March and on the day of Ugadi celebrations, the film will release on 27th March. Shobha Rani, head of SVR Media, presenter of ‘Ananda Thandavam’ in Telugu addressed the press saying, ‘The musical score of ‘Ananda Thandavam’ will be another chartbuster from the house of Aaskar Films. Soni MGM holds the audio rights and will market the music. On the special occasion of Telugu New Year (27th March), we will release the movie’.

‘Kuthuru Kosam’ gets re-released on 20th March

A film titled ‘Devarakonda Veeraiah’ produced by R. Narayana Murthy was released a fortnight back. But, after two weeks of screening, the shows were stalled and the film went back to production for certain alterations. With a new title ‘Kuthuru Kosam’, the movie will get re-released on 20th March. Lead actor and producer Narayana Murthy addressing the media said, “In modern times, women are daringly taking steps ahead with an aspiration to make it big in different fields of interest. However, many of them become exploited victims of the cruel bad doers in the society. Based on this storyline, we are re-releasing this film after adding a song and changing some of the scenes. The movie will hit screens on 20th March.”

Sushanth is busy dancing

For the movie ‘Current’, Sushanth is busy getting his moves right for a song sequence that is underway at Annapurna Studios. Directed by Surya Prathap, Sneha Ullal plays heroine in the film presented by Annapurna Studios on Nag Corporation banner and produced by Chinthalapudi Srinivasa Rao – Nag Suseela. Choreographer Prem Rakshit is making the lead pair Sushanth and Sneha Ullal dance in three specially constructed sets in the studios. The crew will be engaged round-the-clock to finish the song so that the film will be readied for summer release. In an on-location press meet, Srinivasa Rao and Suseela said, “Devi Sri Prasad has composed some foot tapping numbers that is being bought on screen in a lavish style. ‘Current’ will set a trend for love and inspire future flicks of the same genre. Sushanth will get a big break with this film.” Prem Rakshith after choreographing the song was all praise for the star and said, “Sushanth is a great dancer and does the steps with ease. The song will sure be a highlight for the film.”

‘Housefull’ slated for March release

The release date of ‘Housefull’ after repeated changes is now confirmed to be around the end of March. Produced by Chandra Siddharth, a debutant maker Ajay Bhuyan has directed ‘Housefull’ starring Vipin, Arya, Vega and Gauri Pandit. Elucidating about the release dates, director Chandra Siddharth said, “This romantic comedy thriller is made very close to my ideas and taste. Made with five songs, the entire happenings of the story takes place on a night, which is an innovative approach to screenplay. Supporting the cast of two girls and two boys, Ali dons a meaty role. Musical score rendered by Anup will add to the pep.” Earlier, it was said to hit screens on 14th February but now it will be in March and the release date is yet to be officially announced.

‘Sammakka Sarakka’ completes 100 days

‘Sammaka Sarakka’ starring Udaybabu, son of Babu Mohan is directed by Vemu and produced by Indira Vijayalakshmi. The film has completed successful 100 days of screening which was celebrated in a grand occasion held on 9th March at Film Chamber, Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, Relangi Narasimha Rao and SV Krishna Reddy said, “Uday Babu is talented and he has a good future in this industry if he makes the right kind of moves.” Sharing his share of hurdles that he faced during shooting, Babu Mohan said, “Even though we had to overcome the problem of promoting the film, I am happy that I have made a good film which has completed 100 days on 3rd of this month and is running towards the 150 day mark.” “I will be determined to go through the path and guidelines as advised by senior directors who watched the film. I will give my best efforts so as not to flout my father’s hard earned fame in cinema,” said Uday on his part. ‘Sontha Vuru’ worldwide release on 21st March

Bad news for Pawan Kalyan fans

The much touted action film ‘Komaram Puli’ with Pawan Kalyan playing the title role has been in the making for some time now. SJ Suryah of Khushi fame is the director. An international model based in London is debuting as the heroine with this film. But with the elections now scheduled to be held on April 16 and 23, the shooting for the film has been shelved completely. Pawan Kalyan will be busy campaigning for the Praja Rajyam from now on till the elections are held.

So there is no way Puli will hit the screens before summer. This comes as a huge disappointment for all Pawan Kalyan fans.

Mahesh Babu’s film in doubt

Prince Mahesh Babu is yet to report for work. He is on a holiday for nearly two years now. His last film Athidhi hit the screens in October 2007 and he has not yet begun work on a new film. Mahesh’s new film with Trivikram Srinivas has been in the pipeline for almost a year now. A special set was also erected at a studio in Hyderabad and several changes made to the script to suit Mahesh Babu. Even the heroines of the film have been changed a couple of times but the film is yet to hit the floors. Mahesh is now reportedly holidaying in Malaysia and his fans hope that he will return soon and begin work on ‘Varudu’.

Prabhas coming with ‘Eight Packs’

Prabhas has worked for nearly eight months for his new get up for the film. The film is a stylish and lavishly produced one and is sure to set the box office on fire. The film directed by Mehar Ramesh of Kanrtri fame is now in the final stage of production. The audio will be release in the last week of March and the film in April. Krishnam Raju is playing a police officer in the film. The sexy Anushka is the heroine while Haniska Motwani is doing an items song. Mani Sharma is the music director.

New heroine opposite Allu Arjun

Hero Allu Arjun is now busy with as many as three films in hand. His Arya-2 directed by Sukumar is now in brisk progress. Arjun is also acting in a new film to be directed by Gunashekar. The film will go on to the sets at Ramoji Film City from March 22. DVV Danayya is the producer. The film will be completed in three schedules and will be ready for release by October. A newcomer, Bhanusri, the daughter of an NRI will debut opposite Arjun in the film. Mani Sarma is scoring the music for the film.

Jr NTR has been regularly meeting Chandrababu Naidu from the past few days. The reason behind this is not clearly known yet. But the assumptions are being made in different ways as NTR is not opening his mouth in any form before media. Although he hasn’t come onto the campaigning ground till now, his name is being widely used by TDP. The party has been sending press notes to media stating that NTR is hitting camping on so and so date. It is not required to meet Chandrababu regularly if it were a mere campaigning issue. But for what NTR is meeting Babu daily? Some say that he is negotiating terms with Chandrababu for the marriage of his father Hari Krishna with his mother Shalini. He feels that it would be the right time to make her mother happy, say sources. It is being said that Jr NTR is rightly playing with the senses of Chandrababu Naidu in this election season. Some say that he is meeting for procuring tickets for his close associates. Everything is secret with respect to Jr NTR until he opens his mouth. It has to be underlined that PRP already made a statement that they will make Harikrishna and Shalini unite with marital bond once Jr NTR starts campaigning for TDP. We have to wait till 12th of this month to know the apparent truth in this matter at least.

After becoming the numero uno queen at the box office from the past few weeks with her blockbuster hit ‘Arundhati’, the voluptuous beauty Anushka has become the hottest bird not just in Telugu but in the entire southern circuit. Now, here is sizzling news that is causing a stir. If sources are to be believed, then Anushka might just show a glimmer for the forthcoming elections as she might campaign for the Congress party. As it is, the petite beauty Trisha has already given her confirmation and if Anushka also joins the trip then the impact will be intense. It is heard that Sweety (that’s Anushka’s pet name) has obliged to take up this assignment on the recommendation of Yuvasamrat Nagarjuna and given their relationship, Nag had suggested she do this. ‘Adurs’ is the ongoing film directed by VV Vinayak with NTR and Nayanthara in the cast. Kodali Venkateswara Rao widely known as Nani produces it on Vaishnavi Arts banner and B. Vamsi Mohan presents the film.

Latest update is ‘Adurs’ will be dubbed in Malayalam and be released on the same date that of the Telugu version. The lead ladies Nayanthara and Sheela are native of Kerala which is strongly believed to be a highlight for the film’s market in the state.

For, the living music legend Bala Murali Krishna will be coming back to cinema after a gap of nearly 2 decades.

It will be really hard for anyone to have forgotten his memorable renditions ‘Padana Vani’ (Megha Sandhesham), ‘Salilitha Raga Sudharasa’ (Narthanashala), ‘Adi Anaadiyu’ (Bhaktha Prahlada), ‘Mouname Nee’ (Guppedu Manasu) and the like. Preening about the marvelous feat, Vasanthan said, “The legendary songster agreed to sing after a gap of almost twenty years. I am very happy to have him sing in my composition which is a rare honor.”

We will have to wait to be gifted with a Telugu song in his voice and hope for the best to happen soon.

Venkatesh finally acts with Kamal Hassan

The successful Bollywood film A Wednesday with Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher in the lead with terrorism in its backdrop is getting Ready to be remade in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages. Kamal Hassan had evinced keen interest in bringing out this remake and joined hands with UTV to produce this film, with Kamal playing the role of Naseeruddin Shah. He convinced Venkatesh to play anupam kher’s role in Telugu, while Mohanlal would Don the role in Tamil and Malayalam languages.

It is worth mentioning that Venkatesh had earlier agreed to pair up with Kamal Hassan for Marmayogi but that project was indefinitely postponed due to budget constraints. Chakri is likely to direct this film and the film would start rolling in March. A huge set would be erected in Hyderabad for this purpose. Producer Kirankumar Koneru of Siddham-fame had reportedly claimed the remake rights earlier, but he was cajoled by Kamal Hassan.

NTR, the hero in Bobbili Puli remake

We are well aware of how big a sensation was created by Bobbili Puli with the late NT Rama Rao in the title role, a few decades ago. A strong rumour is making rounds that the same director is planning to re-create history by remaking the film with his grandson NT Rama Rao.

It has also been learnt that NT Rama Rao expressed his happiness when Dasari Narayana Rao proposed the project. If everything goes well, the film would go to the sets some where during this month itself, say sources in Film Nagar.

Allu Arjun in search of a foreign babe

Stylish Star allu arjun’s latest Telugu film, to be directed by Gunasekhar and produced by hit maker D.V.V. Danaiah under the banner of Universal Media, will start rolling from March 21. The film was launched at Gunasekhar’s office on December 15.

The hunt is still on for a new heroine. If initial reports are to be believed, allu arjun wants a foreign babe as his heroine in this film which will be shot in Three schedules. The first two schedules will end by March and April. The third schedule will start in April end and will continue till the entire shooting is complete.

According to director Gunasekhar, the story has such potential that allu arjun alone could play the Hero's character and this would be best-ever character in his career so far. The crew has been working

on the script for the past six months.

Cinematographer R.D. Rajasekhar (of Gharshana and Ghajini fame) is reportedly so impressed with the story that he agreed not to work for any other films till the completion of this flick. Another specialty of the film is that about 50 families are playing roles in this film along with their family members. Mani Sharma has scored music for lyrics penned by Veturi. Srikar Prasad edits the film, while Peter Haynes choreographs action sequences. Ashok is the man behind art.

Sivaji to both act and produce a film

Though Sivaji does not have many hits to his credit, he continues to play hero in many number of films every year. He has earned a name as a hero of low-budget films with minimum guarantee. His films like Adirindayya Chandram, Tata Birla Madhyalo LailaMantra have proved that his films have good market.

It has been reliably learnt that Sivaji would soon turn a producer too. He has reportedly bagged the remake rights of a successful Kannada film Taj Mahal in Telugu. Ajay and Puja Gandhi

play the lead roles in this teenage love story in Kannada. The film is successfully running in Karnataka and has completed over 200 days.

Directed by Chandru, the film has music

by Abhiman and it has been proved to be a musical hit there. Sivaji himself would play the hero in this romantic entertainer and he has reportedly shed six kg for the film and has turned very slim.

Ileana's sister in movies?

Ileana, one of Tollywood’s hottest stars, has reportedly started the groundwork for bringing her sister into movies. Sources say that Ileana, who appeared in Fair and Lovely ads, has been recommending her sister’s name in cinema circles for some time; now, she has seriously started working to get her sister into Tollywood and Kollywood.

It is heard that recently, she held a shooting session and made her sister's portfolio. The pictures have been sent to noted directors and producers in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. So in a short while, we may see another beauty ready to steal our hearts.

Born in Mumbai, Ileana made her debut through Devadasu (2006). Her breakthrough came with the highly successful Pokiri, her second Telugu film (opposite Mahesh Babu). She made her entry in Tamil thorough Kedi. Although she is getting many offers in Tamil, due to her commitments, she is concentrating on Telugu movies only at present.

Anandha Thandavam: Music launched

The music launch of producer Aascar Ravichandran's Tamil film Ananda Thandavam (also spelt as Aananda Thaandavam), which is being dubbed in Telugu with the same name, will be held on March 13.

Music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar (A.R. Rahman’s nephew) and is expected to be a very different experience for all music lovers in Tamil and Telugu. Lyrics were penned by Suddala AshokTeja, Bhuvana Chandra and Vanamali.

An adaptation of renowned Tamil writer Sujatha’s much-acclaimed novel "Pirivom Santhippom", Anandha Thandavam, directed by Gandhi Krishna, former assistant to Shankar in Sivaji, has completed its entire shooting and is slated for Ugadi release.

Starring Siddharth and Tamannaah in lead roles, the film is considered to be a very important film in Tamannaah’s career, as it is a heroine-centric story, which has a strong message to those who are craving to leave their homeland and settle abroad.

Extensively shot in the US, the film revolves around a young girl whose profession in the field of virtual reality and special effects field takes her to the US. After spending quite some time there, she realizes that her life has been rendered too monotonous by the mechanized American lifestyle. That is when she longs to return to India. Sujatha also wrote the dialogues for the screenplay before his death. The film also stars Rukmini of Bommalattam fame, Bala Singh, Kitty, Madan Bob, and "Special Effects" Venky.

Sushanth in action

The film ‘Current’ starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s grandson and Nagarjuna’s nephew, Sushanth and Sneha Ullal is undergoing a brisk progress in the sets.

Debutant filmmaker Surya Prathap completed the dramatic scenes and is busy directing the action sequence choreographed by stunt master Kanal Kannan.

Songs will be filmed once the crew finishes these stunts, as planned by the makers. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the musical score for this romantic flick slated for summer release.

CharanRaj, Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bharani, Suneel, Shafi, Raghubabu, Sudha, Jhansi are playing the prominent cast.

‘Jallu’ adds to the list of March releases

‘Jallu’ starring Jayanth and Prerana in the main lead is directed by VV Narayana and Subhash Naidu is producing the film on Recharla Movie Creations banner. With the schedules done, post production work is now carried out.

With the impending release date of the film, the producer organized a press meet on Tuesday. Addressing the media, he said, “The music album of ‘Jallu’ comprising of six songs has been composed by Nihal. After the audio launch, rave reviews are thronging towards us for the captivating tunes. We are confident that with a debutant star cast, this feel good love story will sure woo the crowd. The release is planned in the month of March.”

Charmme to thrill yet again as ‘Manorama’

Zee Motion Pictures production ‘Manorama’ stars Charmme and Nishan in the lead cast. Eeshwar Reddy has directed the film which is set for Ugadi release.

The shooting schedules have been completed and post production work is on. Speaking on the occasion, Eeshwar said, “This film is a fresh venture that differs entirely from the style of ‘Mee Sreyobhilashi’. With Charmme in the female lead, ‘Manorama’ will be yet another thriller that belongs to a romantic thriller genre. The plot unveils to relate the life of Manorama and how her name relates to the story. The heroine centric film has been made woven around the present society.”

Charmme’s dazzling emotions, art director Ashok’s maginificient sets and Koti’s music are the best part of this film. The audio launch will be held soon to bring the music out to the public, and the film will hit the screens on Ugadi.

Other supporting cast comprises of Ali, MS Narayana, Lahari, Pradeep and others.

Sreeram is a dad now

The day of February 28th was a double delight for actor Sreeran and his wife Vandhana as the couple has been blessed with a baby boy today.

The romantic flick ‘Roja Poolu’ introduced Sreeram to Tollywood. He got instantly recognized in the role of a romantic hero in his first flick itself. Now, the actor has went for a image make over as he appears in the role of a cop in the upcoming ‘Police Police’ sharing screen space with Prithvi Raj.

Speaking to the media, he said, “My joy knew no bounds when my wife Vandhana gave birth to a boy, that too on my birthday. Me and my son are born on the same day which is really a special occurrence. I respect my mother and my wife for their womanhood which is an esteemed role in life. I am fortunate enough to have been blessed by god with a healthy baby, be it a boy or girl is of least importance.”

The couple is extremely delighted over the new born and Sreeram is looking forward to spend more time with his child.

Prabhas and Puri seam on March 18

Producer Adithya Ram began a film factory and the first film of Adithya Ram Movies banner in this new venture will be in Prabhas - Puri Jagannath combo.

The shooting of this film will begin on 18th March and the other proposed films will follow in suit. Puri Jagannath in his style of hit flicks has churned out yet another stylish and action oriented script to suit the body language of Prabhas. In the line of hits like ‘Sandade Sandadi’, ‘Khushi Khushiga’, ‘Swagatham’, Adithya Ram has begun his ‘Production No – 4’.

Adithya Ram arranged a press meet to reveal the news and said, “This big budget movie will have all the flavor of romance, action, sentiment and comedy to entertain one and all. Puri Jagannath have worked hard to envisage this script and we are sure this will be a hit film produced by the film factory. Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has been roped in to play the heroine while the supporting star cast is to be decided. Puri and Prabhas will put in their best efforts to bring out a blockbuster hit.”

Director Puri said that the commercial entertainer will be tailor made for Prabhas and will most probably hit screens by August.

Puri Jagannath churned out ‘Neninthe’ lastly and Prabhas is busy with ‘Billa’ directed by Meher Ramesh which is in the last leg of production.

‘Adhinetha’ slams politics this April

Sri Satya Sai Arts production ‘Adhinetha’ starring Jagapathi Babu and Shraddha Das in the lead cast is directed by V. Samudra and produced by KK Radhamohan. Presented by Sadasivuni Ravi, the film based on political affairs has crossed half way and is continuing in the schedules briskly.

Without a definite break, the shooting is progressing to complete filming in a single schedule. As the plot is based on politics, makers have planned for a April release betting on the election fever in the month.

After portraying the role of family hero and police officer, Jagapathi Babu this time dons the role of a full fledged politician. V. Samudra is popular for his mass commercial hits and he teams up with Jagapathi Babu after ‘Siva Rama Raju’. The director is hoping high that this will be the most powerful ever portrayal for Jagapathi Babu.
