Chiru spending Rs 2 lakh a day on image

Believe it or not, Chiranjeevi is spending nearly Rs 2 lakh a day to build up his political image.

Sources in Praja Rajyam Party say Image Gardens at Madhapur, where Chiranjeevi is meeting leaders and activists from other political parties, is charging Rs 2 lakh a day, including the hall charges, lighting and refreshments. Every day, he is coming to the Image Gardens and waiting for leaders defecting from other parties. On Wednesday, Nellore Mayor Sailaja Reddy, who has not been seeing eye to eye with Anam brothers, quit the Congress and joined PRP.

However, Chiranjeevi shaking hands with defectors at Image Gardens, is causing more damage to him than good. The Telugu Desam party has already started attacking him for depending too much on the defectors, rather than attracting neutrals with his political philosophy. "One day, he holds talks with Advani. The other day, he shakes hands with Amar Singh, who is a close friend of the Congress. And his ideologue Dr Mitra meets the Left parties. It appears he has no philosophy of his own," the TD leaders criticised. So far, Chiru has failed to generate the euphoria among the common masses.
