Tsunami-7 completes shooting

Tsunami-7 directed by M.A. Choudhary, presented by Addanki MLA Karanam Balaram Krishnamurthy and produced by G. Madhukar and Srinivas Babu under V International banner stars Ankita. The shooting was completed recently. The director and producers stated in a recent press meet, “The characterization of Ankita will be different. We plan to release the audio very soon.” Raghubabu, Krishna Bhagawan, Suman Shetty, Jayaparakash Reddy, Jeeva, Melkote, Kota Shankara Rao, Sivaparvathi, Chitram Sreenu, Ram Jagan and Babylonia are starring in the supporting cast. Ravindra Desai’s lyrics are set to Gorantla Krishna’s music and editing is by Sai Srinivas, while story, screenplay and direction are by M.A. Choudary. The movie deals with family problems which start in a very small way and turn into a tsunami because of misunderstandings between family members.

Fitting Master shooting begins tomorrow

Fitting Master, directed and produced by E.V.V. Satyanarayana under E.V. Cinema banner and starring Allari Naresh, will begin regular shooting schedules from November 1st in Vizag, Araku and surrounding areas. The director said, “One song, one fight and some scenes will be shot there during the 15-day shoot. Madalasa Sharma is the debut heroine. We finalized the subject after reviewing 18 versions. We are planning to complete the shooting by November end and release the film in December. This is the highest budget film among all my low-budget films under our banner. Moreover, we have allocated more days for shooting, and the film has been shot in more locations than all our earlier movies. Earlier, I used to wrap up the shooting in 50 days. But for this film we took 100 days. The storyline resembles comedy but the hero is quite serious and always instigates quarrels between others. However, the quarrel will have meaning and purpose. For those who want to laugh heartily, it would be really a gift. Though the film seems to be a comedy, it carries a very good message that children should listen and respect the words of their parents and parents should also honour the ideas of the children. This is the eighth movie under our banner.”

Brahmanandam in Neninthe

Neninthe, directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by D.V.V. Danaiah under Universal Media banner starring Ravi Teja, introduces Siya as the fresh-faced heroine. The movie’s shooting is progressing at a fast pace. The film unit left for Switzerland to can songs from November 1 to 11. With this schedule, the shooting is expected to wind up. The producer is making efforts to release the film on December 18th. Speaking on the occasion, Danaiah said, “Almost all the films that Puri and Ravi Teja worked in together were big hits and attracted all classes of audiences. We strongly believe that the magic will continue for our film too and the combination will emerge successful yet again. Ravi Teja is playing the role of an assistant director who works hard to achieve his dream of turning director. It is a tailor-made character for him. The director is trying to showcase the pros and cons in the film industry. Siya, who is making her debut as heroine through our movie, has given a great performance. Revi Teja's performance will remain the highlight of the movie.” Brahmanandam plays the role of a affable but clumsy film director. Sairam Shankar, Supreet Reddy, Subbaraju, M.S. Narayan, Venu Madhav, Raja Ravindra, Rajesh, Sayaji Shinde, Krishna Bhagawan, Uttej, Ramaprabha, Kovai Sarala, Mumaith Khan and Surekhavani have given stellar performances in their supporting roles.

Vikram’s 'Mallana' for Sankrathi release

Finally Vikram’s much-talked about movie, Mallanna, has completed its entire shooting part. The movie was originally planned to release for Summer 2008 but its shooting schedules went haywire and finally it has now been completed the shooting. Vikram has already moved on to his new film in the direction of great auteur Manirathnam. He is currently shooting for Manirathnam’s Ashokavanam with Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan in Kochi, Kerala. On the other hand, Mallanna, directed by Susi Ganeshan, will release on Sankranthi. Devi Sri Prasad is providing the music while Shriya is the heroine.

Telangana made me megastar: Chiranjeevi

Megastar Chiranjeevi admitted today (Thursday, Oct 30) that Telangana people made him megastar from a mere movie star. “All my films had great patronage in all the regions of our state but Telangana (Nizam) has been my bastion. I had great records in the region and I know the heart beat of Telangana people who are striving for self respect,” he said in his maiden political road show in the region. It should be noted Chiranjeevi was the first hero in Tollywood to take the rights of Nizam area as part of remuneration. After him, other stars like Nagarjuna followed the suit.

Rambha is game for TV soap operas

Former sexy queen Rambha says she has no plans of retiring from acting in the near future. Contrary to reports in a section of media, the actress said that she would continue to play heroine. Although offers for as the lead actress have completely dried up, the ‘thunder-thighs’ babe is no mood to bid adieu to acting. “I am still interested in playing heroine roles. If I retire, I will cross the road to do TV serials. Don’t have qualms in doing soap operas,” she informs.

She is already doing a dance show on a Tamil channel.

'Mr. Gireesham' completes talkie

‘Mr. Gireesham’ starring Krishna Bhagavan and Ramya Krishna in the lead, is directed by Vishwaprasad. It’s presented by G Murali Mohan and produced by Ramesh Chandra Benarjeebabu on SRC Creations banner. The film completed the talkie part and the dubbing work is in progress. The makers are preparing to release it in the 3rd week of November. Kanya - Shulkam one of the plays by renowned writer and socialist Gurajada Appa Rao forms the basis for the story of this film, it is said that in fact the director has molded the same story to suite the contemporary society. The title role is played by Krishna Bhagavan, and Ramyakrishna is playing another prominent character. According to the director, this film comes as a sigh of relief in present day's mechanical life. The movie is very close to real life and at the same time it brings in entertainment with a good message that is conveyed aptly. The music is rendered by SA Khuddus, Cinematography by Rajesh Kata, and the dialogues are written by popular novelist Yerramsetti Sai.

'Punnami Nagu' tours China

A.Kodandarami Reddy, a popular director who reaped huge hits in legendary combination with Chiranjeevi, is directing the film 'Punnami Nagu'. The story is based on Yendamuri Veerandranath's novel. Mumaith Khan is playing the lead role alongside the hero Rajiv Kanakala and G.Vijaykumar Goud is producing it on Sound & Claps banner, comprising of a huge budget. Recently, the climax was shot on a huge level, featuring all the artists in the film. The talkie portion is completed with an exception of two songs. In this connection, a press meet was held today by the unit. Speaking to the press producer G. Vijaykumar Goud said, "Our production Punnami Nagu with Mumaith Khan is almost complete except for two songs and some patch work. We have planned to shoot the songs in the locales of Bangkok and Hong Kong from 10th of November. One of them will be canned on Mumaith Khan, and another one will be featuring Mumaith Khan, Rajiv Kanakala and Suhasini. 'Amma' Rajasekhar will choreograph the songs. The shooting will continue till 16th; once the songs are canned we will come back to Hyderabad and complete the patch works followed by dubbing, re-recording, mixing, DTS effects, and will release the film in the first half of December."

'Sesirekha Parinayam' in finale

Krishna Vamsi, the maker of Ninne Pelladutha, Murari and Chandamama is now presently working on ‘Sesireksha Parinayam’ which is about to be finished by the 10th of November. The director who has his personal style of portraying the heroine beautifully has earlier did it for Nagarjuna - Tabu, Mahesh Babu – Sonali, has now set out to make the lead pair Tarun – Genelia D’Souza sheen on celluloid. Unanimously, the bubbly actress is expected to glitter on screen in the maker’s crafty work. Sesirekha from Amalapuram enters conjugal bliss around which the story goes on to narrate her life incidents as a pleasant entertainment. The final schedule of the movie starts from Nov 1 and will be completed in ten consecutive days. The crew of the movie buzzes that they are creating a couple of twists in the story, one before the intermission and the other near the climax, to make it an interesting watch. Royal Nagaraj has written the dialogues. Musical score composed by ManiSharma will be released as the last schedule progresses.

'House-full' takes the second step

House-full true to its name is expected to run packed houses with its unique theme of a romantic comedy entertainer that also packs a thriller sideline. Ajay Bhuyan makes his first directorial venture with this movie casting the double pair Vipin, Vega and Aryan, Gouri Pandit in the main lead. Production house Filmotsav of Chandra Siddharth produces this movie. The movie was launched during Dussera on 9th of October. In the first schedule, that was done till 21st Oct, a song along with some scenes were completed. The second schedule starts today (30th Oct) and the movie will be completed with this schedule. ‘Ajay Bhuyan’s narration of the story was parallel with my taste and thoughts which motivated me to make this movie. He did his graduation from New York Film Institute and also apprenticed under Suresh productions which pads up his skills. A total of five songs are being made for this film,’ concluded producer Chandra Siddharth.

November 8 hosts ‘Jabilamma’

Directed by Suresh, ‘Jabilamma’ starring Rajiv Kanakala and Navneeth Kaur in the lead cast is planned to be released on Nov 8. Koganti Ramakrishna and Challa Satyavaraprasad presents this movie in a combined endeavor. Producer J Sambasiva Rao is producing this movie on Sasidhar Productions banner. On Jabilamma’s nearing release, producer Sambasiva Rao had a meet to brief about the ongoing progress of the movie and made the announcement of its release date. ‘The director’s work in this movie is pristine and it’s a wholesome family entertainer with a disparate storyline. The character of the lead pair is also being borught up in an interesting manner and the movie has been certified by the censor board,’ says the producer. Sriram Vikas composes the music for this movie that has Raghubabu, Telangana Sakuntala, Uttej, Rallapalli, Dhulipala among the prominent cast.

Of course, remaking it in Tamil as 'Ghajini' with Surya in lead role, the actor fleeted to the peaks of glory in his career. Here comes the turn of Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan, an embodiment of extraordinary perfection. "Best than the Best" is the mantra that he follows and his Hindi remake of Ghajini seems to have been spelled on those lines. 60-Secs teaser showcases Aamir Khan in different make-over as an innocent charming lad and a ferocious youngster smashing down baddies. So, what makes the film getting titled 'Ghajini'? Ask Murugadoss and he says, "GHAJINI is derived from the name of King Mohammad Ghajini. No film for Nagarjuna in 2009

Buzz is that top hero Nagarjuna will not be doing any film in 2009 or wouldn’t be shooting for any film for another 8 months. He wants to go slow now as he has other plans than acting; two reasons are cited for his long leave. With his son Chaitu (as Naga Chaitanya is called at home) is making grand debut this year as hero, Nag wants to oversee that maiden film. Chaitu’s maiden film being produced by Dil Raju would be releasing in Summer 2009. The other reason is that Nagarjuna is corporatising his studio, Annapurna Studios, and is developing it with high-end facilities. So, 2009 will take most of his time for these activities, and he might not be taking up any other film until late 2009.

Will Teja produce Krishnavamsi’s film?

Recently, director and producer Teja officially announced that he would be producing director Krishnavamsi’s next film titled Rudraksha. “Both of us - KV and Teja - have been planning to do a film together. Finally it is happening. Soon after he finishes Sashirekhaa Parinayam, I will produce Rudraksha on my Chitram Movies banner,” he informed the media in interviews. That was before the release of Teja’s Keka. Now Teja has bitten the dust with his much-hyped project Keka, doubts are clouded on Rudraksha. It is not that Teja has no money enough to produce another film but Will it really happen? Will he really produce a film now? Lets wait and see.

Ravi Teja heads for Switzerland

Director Puri Jagannadh’s Neninte has almost completed its shoot. Except for songs, the movie has finished its talkie portion. Starring Ravi Teja and newcomer Siya, the film has now landed in Swiss Alps to can two romantic duets there. From November 1st to till 10th, the songs would be canned there. With that, its entire shooting part completes. Producer Danaiah says: “Puri always sticks to the schedules. He has completed it in very fast within just four months. We are happy to announce that we are releasing the movie as we have earlier announced – Dec 18th.”

Why 'Gamyam' missed Indian Panorama

Gamyam was one of the films that considered for Indian Entry for Oscars but the film could not make it to Indian Panorama. Sounds funny, right!? Headed by Telugu film director K.N.T. Sastry (Of Thiladanam fame), the Jury at Indian Panorma felt that only Mee Sreyobhilashi was the best among Telugu films this year to be screened at IFFI, Goa

in December. Yet, Gamyam was not chosen for it. Though Mee Sreyobhilashi is a good film, some say that the film is selected because of its producer C.C. Reddy, who is a relative of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy.

Poison meets press

The Sindhu Tolaani starrer Poison was recently launched with much fanfare. The logo was unveiled in front of a media gathering recently at the 7 Acres, Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. The cast, crew and the unit in general were full of praise for Suhasini, one of the heroines, as she had suggested the title. Famous producer Nallamalupu Srinivas (Bujji) unveiled the logo. Rajiv Kanakala said that the title Suhasini suggested going by the script was so apt that they decided to keep it. “Director Phani Raj has given a very professional treatment to the script. He has inspired us in a big way to put in our best efforts.” Poison stars Rajiv Kanakala, Sindhu Tolaani, Nagendra Prasad (Prabhu Deva's brother) and Vijay Samrat. The movie, being directed by Phaniraj and produced by D. Ramesh Babu, is almost 75% complete. Joshika Sai Lakshmi Films is producing this murder mystery where each character has its pros and cons and carries equal importance.

Gopi... Gopika... Godavari to start

Gopi… Gopika… Godavari directed by Vamsi, presented by Anandi Arts and produced by Valluripalli Ramesh under Maharshi Cinema banner stars Venu Thottempudi and Kamalinee Mukherjee. The regular shooting schedules are set to begin from November 4th. Anandi Arts and Maharshi Cinema produced the big hit Avunu Valliddaru Ishtapaddaru with Vamsi as director, so the trade feels that the same magic can be repeated this time around as well. The producer stated, “This movie will also feature Vamsi’s trademark comedy and it has a beautiful love story based in Konaseema’s scenic surroundings. We are planning a nine-day shoot in Hyderabad from November 4. Later, the unit will shift to Godavari and its surrounding areas to shoot the remaining portions. This is the first-ever collaboration of Venu, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Vamsi. We are sure that the film will earn a big name for the banners as well as for the film unit.”

Minister releases Ankusam audio

Ankusam, directed and produced by V.K. Vijaykumar under Pakhya Celluloid banner, stars Srinath and Sriman with Keerthi Chawla and Sangitha as the glam factor. The audio of the movie was launched recently. State Cinematography Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy released the first audio CD to Tammareddy Bharadwaja at a function held at Prasad Labs recently. Ankusam is the dubbed version of a Tamil hit film Naayaghan. The minister stated during the audio release function, “Earlier, Shyamprasad Reddy produced another film titled Ankusam in Telugu and it was a big hit. Now Vijaykumar Reddy is producing a film with the same name. Incidentally, both are from Nellore. This film also carries a nice message on the lines of the earlier movie.” Keerthi Chawla commented, “Each song in the film is melodious. I wish my second innings had started in Tollywood with this movie.” Sriman said, “This is my 98th movie. Though I am a native of Andhra, I was successful in the Tamil film industry. My father produced a film Dharma with me in Telugu. Though he had spent Rs 1.8 crore, we got only Rs 1 crore in return. But I will do one more straight film in Telugu. Maria Manohar scored very good music for this flick. The producer has made the film with commitment. We hope that the audiences give the movie the reception that it deserves.”

16 Days audio unveiled

16 Days, directed by Prabhu Solomon, produced by P. Maheshbabu and D.Y. Choudary under Cosmos Entertainments banner stars Charmi in the lead. Debutant Aravind stars opposite the curvaceous actress. The audio was released by Sony BMG Entertainment recently. Muralimohan, who attended the programme as chief guest, released the audio and handed over the first CD to Allari Naresh. Muralimohan said, “After watching the first song, I got the feel of watching the entire film. I am sure that the film will by good for the careers of all the unit members.” Kota Srinivasa Rao said, “The story revolves around four characters. In one word, it is a directors' film. The director projected a routine story in a novel way which will thrill the audiences.” Paruchuri Gopalakrishna commented, “After the success of small budget films like Anasuya, Mantra and Gamyam, it was proved that such movies are back in fashion. Definitely 16 Days

will run for more than the mandatory 16 weeks.” Director declared, “After a great artiste like M.R. Radha comes Kota Srinivasa Rao from the same calibre.” Producer says, “We are confident that our film will not disappoint any one. Though Dharan is a young man, he has scored some great music for the movie.’

Yuva Gargana in 137 acres

Arjan Bajwa relies on fashion

Model-turned-actor Arjan Bajwa has received a wide recognition from Madhur Bhandarkar's much-awaited 'Fashion'. The film starring Priyanka Chopra in the female lead was released today on 29th Oct. Bajwa started his career as a model for commercials and was soon roped in by the south film industry. He was introduced to Tollywood in 2001, christened as Deepak. He played as hero in the films like 'Sampangi', 'Premalo Pavani Kalyan' in the direction of B Jaya. He also played the friend for RaviTeja in 'Bhadra'. He did six Telugu films and four Hindi films including 'Fashion' so far. Interestingly the actor is also a black belt in Taekwondo. He plays an aspiring model in the film which is very idealistic for his real life demeanor. If this film, having huge publicity, goes on to be a hit then hopefully 'Fashion' will be a turning point in his career.

చర్మమే, Manjula plays together

A new movie is about to commence starring Charmme and Manjula in the main roles which is said to be a heroine oriented subject. Manjula, daughter of super star Krishna is producing this film on Indira Productions banner. Indrajith and Shashank are the male leads in this movie to be made in the direction of KV Prakash. Manjula Swaroop has earlier acted and produced 'Show' the national award winning film for Best Screenplay, in the direction of Nilakanta. She has also produced 'Naani' and 'Pokiri' with her brother, star hero Mahesh Babu donning the lead role. Now she is once again appearing on screen in a lead role, sharing space with Charmme in an equally challenging role. Manjula is playing opposite Indrajith while Charmme is paired with Shashank in this yet to be titled movie. Shooting of this film began on 20th this month, and will be finished in a continuous schedule of 45 days. The title 'Poison' was earlier considered for this flick, but as it is confirmed with another film, the makers are looking for a new title. The story is said to be having meaty roles for both the heroines. Directed by VK Prakash, the camera is handled by Shyam K Dutt, and Manu of 'Avakai Biryani' fame is rendering the music.

Vamsi directs Venu and Kamalini

The beautiful river Godavari is the element that inspired most of Vamsi’s movies and his latest is no way different from his past endeavors. This time he is about to begin his next with Venu and Kamalini Mukherjee playing the main cast in the movie titled ‘Gopi Gopika Godavari’. Maharshi Cinema serves host for the production banner for this movie produced by Valluripalli Ramesh that starts on November 4th. Director Vamsi has earlier delivered the block buster 'Avunu Vallidaru Ishtapaddaru' casting Ravi Teja and Kalyani in the lead, produced by Valluripalli Ramesh on Aanandi Arts banner. It is a back to the pavilion mode for these people who are entering the field once again. The plotline of this movie is said to be a love story in the back drop of river Godavari. Venu will be playing the character Gopi, while Kamalini the Gopika. Both of them are working for the first time in the direction of Vamsi. The director who has a sweet tooth for Godavari as a backdrop in his writings and movies, is also know to portray heroines beautifully on screen. It is learnt that the unit will begin shooting on 4th November at Hyderabad, and will continue for a week. Later, the shoot will be done in the locales of Polavaram near to Godavari.

Nandi awards bestowed on Nov 8

Andhra Pradesh Government's prestigious 'Nandi Awards' presentation will take place this year on 8th of November. The venue is the NTR Stadium in Hyderabad for the function. The Nandi Awards will be presented to films, which are selected for the years 2005-2006, in various categories. Also the recipients of NTR National Award for years 2003-2006 and the recipients of Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for the years 2005-2006 will be felicitated with the respective awards. Mahesh Babu is selected as the Best Actor 2005 for 'Athadu', and hero Akkineni Nagarjuna was selected as the Best Actor 2006 for 'Sri Ramadasu' and will be receiving Nandi Awards on this stage. On this occasion, the recipients of 'NTR National Award', Krishna for 2003, Ilayaraja for 2004 and Kannada actor Ambareesh for 2005, actress Wahida Rehman for 2006 will be presented with the award. 'Mee Sreyobhilasi' in IFFI

International Film Festival of India 2008 to be held in December in Goa has short-listed the films to be screened among which is Mee Sreyobhilasi. The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the India Panorama which is set to be screened at the 39th International Film Festival of India that is composed of 25 recommends in the feature film category and 20 others in the non-feature film category. First time director Eeshwar’s Mee Sreyobhilasi starring Rajendra Prasad holds the honor of being the only Telugu movie that has been selected. Recipient of 54th National Film Award for best non-feature film Bishar Blues (Bengali) and best feature film Pulijanmam (Malayalam) made their entry with unanimous voting. Based on the report submitted by the jury to the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Anand Sharma, Yarwing, a film in Kokborok language of Tripura, is being screened as the inaugural film in the IFFI. Kanchivaram (Tamil) and Mahasatta (Marathi) has been voted to be screened in the contest section of the International Film Festival.

Adlabs rechristened as Big Cinemas

The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG) in a motivation to bring wholesome entertainment under one group ‘Big’ has rechristened their multiplex chain Adlabs cinemas as Big cinemas. The chain of entertainment under Reliance group comprises of Big movies, Big Flix, Big FM, Big Music, Big Tv following which the new name has been changed for their cinemas. The new brand name has come into effect from October 28, from the eve of Diwali. Adlabs Films chief executive, Anil Arjun announcing the news said, “Adlabs brand has been changed into Big Cinemas and the new brand's signage, collaterals and promotional materials, designed by Singapore's Bonsey Design will reflect the vibrancy of BIG Cinemas shortly.” He added that it is done in line with R-ADAG's aim to create one consumer entertainment brand, BIG.

KBL's Double Platinum function

The Double Platinum Disc function of Kotha Bangaru Lokam (KBL) was held at Durgan Cheruvu in Hyderabad on Saturday. Varun Sandesh of Happy Days fame and Swetha Prasad have given the movie its effervescent mood with their refreshing performances. Srikanth Addala has made his directorial debut with this movie produced by Dil Raju. Chief guest V.V. Vinayak handed over the mementoes to the actors and technicians. Mickey J. Meyer scored the soul-stirring music. Director Srikanth Adala said he would continue to make films meant for family audiences. Swetha Prasad, who came to the success meet in a sleek black sheath dress slit above her knees, was called aside by producer Dil Raju after which she went back to her dressing room and returned dressed demurely in a jeans and T-shirt like any average teenager. What the producer said to the dazzling damsel is a cause for speculation as it seemed to be the direct cause for Swetha’s wardrobe change.

Vinayakudu releasing soon

Vinayakudu, starring Sonia (Sravs of Happy Days) and Krishnudu, is directed by debutant Saikiran Adavi, one of Sekhar Kammula’s disciples. Sonia has a very dynamic role and her performance after Happy Days is something that will assure her popularity in Tollywood. Sarita Patra, who had produced the Nandi award-winning Aa Naluguru under the banner of Prem Movies, is producing Vinayakudu under the same banner. Premkumar Patra will be ప్రేసేంటి ng the movie.In production since April 2008, the shooting has జస్ట్ been finished and the movie has gone into post production. Along with Surya s/o Krishnan and Yuvatha, Dil Raju is distributing the film in Nizam and Vizag areas through his company, Sri Venkateswara Creations. Surya Teja, Jyothi, Adarsh, Muralikrishna and others are in the cast. Camera is by P.G. Vinda, lyrics are by Vanamali, music is by Shyam Prasad, and art is by Satya Srinivas.

Dasari Narayan Rao hospitalized

The powerhouse of Telugu film industry, Dasari Narayan Rao was hospitalized about four days ago due to a kidney-related health problem. He is recuperating in the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, who had attended Vishnuvardhan"s wedding, noticed that Dasari, a close friend of the groom's father (Dr. Mohan Babu), was noticeably absent. On inquiring, he learnt that the veteran producer was ill and went to visit Dasari. Politician, film director and producer, Dasari Narayan Rao has directed over 150 films, produced around 53 films and pitched in as lyricist and dialogue writer in around 250 films. He's currently acting in his home-production, Meistry (also spelt Maistri), a political satire of sorts. Mohan Babu has a very pivotal cameo in this movie, which is set to release at a time when Chiranjeevi will be in the thick of his political campaign.

Shooting of Yeppudu? Yekkada? Yela? directed by Bujji Naidu and produced by Boddepalli Vaikunta Rao under the banner of Maa Modern Creations was completed recently. The film has Satish and Poonam Singar in the lead. The director said that how the hero faces the anti-social elements in the society is the basic storyline. The producer of the film said, "We shot the film in Hyderabad, Vizag and their surrounding areas. We are going to release the film in November." Sivajiraja, Kota Sankara Rao, Rami Reddy, Sarika Ramachandra Rao, Roja, Padma Jayanti, Vaibyav, Anita, Surya and others are in the cast. Music is by Ballepalli Mohan, camera is by Kalyan Sami, while story, screenplay and direction are by Bujji Naidu.

Romeo shooting in Vizag

Directed by Ramakrishna and produced by Srinivas under the banner of Sudha Entertainments with Aryan Rajesh and Sraddha Arya in the lead, Srihari playing an important role is progressing well. Producer says, "The film would suit the title of our movie. We had started canning of songs at Visakhapatnam recently under the choreography of Ganesh. We will shoot some chasing scenes in Araku from October 22. Later our unit would return to Visakhapatnam and continue its shooting there. We will wrap up the shooting with the schedule that takes place in Hyderabad. We are planning to complete the shooting by November 15 and are planning to release the film in December." Music is by Agastya.

Sneha to be honored with Nandi award

Popular actress Sneha has been chosen for the prestigious Nandi award a prestigious from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for her critically applauded first-rate performance in Radha Gopalam (2005). The film which had Srikanth and Sneha in lead roles was directed by Bapu and music was by Mani Sharma. The award would be presented to Sneha at a grand function to be held in Hyderabad on the 28th of November. An elated Sneha thanked the producer and director of the film. She said, "It is a coveted honor. It is an encouragement and motivation for me to get more acclaim in the future".

Happy Journey audio function

Audio of Happy Journey film was launched at a function organized in Prasad Labs on the night of 25 October. Nagababu, Ramana Gogula, Sabhapati and VN Aditya attended this function as guests. Naga Babu launched the audio and gave the first unit to Ramana Gogula.

Nagababu said, “Viswa Teja is my nephew. His real name is Rahul. He had been trying to make a name for himself without any help from us. We are ready to help him, but he want to do it on his own. I am sure that he would establish himself well in Telugu film industry.”

Blade Babji Movie review

Blade Babji (Allari Naresh) is a pickpocket who takes up the mission of earning 4 crores to rescue the slum dwellers in his area from a builder. He and his gang go to Vizag and rob a bank. And they hide the loot in a building under construction. They were forced to go away for a month and when they return they find a police control room at the spot where they hidden their loot. In order to retrieve the loot, Blade Babji takes the position of newly joined Krishna Manohar (spoof of Pokiri) by kidnapping him. The rest of the story is all about the comedy of errors that followed.

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi sought the party functionaries at all levels not to make any comment or statement on the burning issue of Telangana. Talking to the media, Chiranjeevi said that Telangana issue was a delicate aspect and required more insights before making any valid statement on it. NTR National Awards announced

HYDERABAD After virtually putting it in cold storage for over four years, the Andhra Pradesh government on Monday finally announced the prestigious NTR National Awards for the years 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Yesteryear superstar of Telugu films Krishna has been chosen for the NTR National Award for 2003 while ace music director maestro Ilayaraja has been chosen for 2004. Popular Kannada film star-turned-politician Ambareesh bagged it for 2005 and yesteryear Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman gets the award for 2006, according to State Information Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy. Instituted after the legendary Telugu film star-turned-politician N T Rama Rao, the award carries a cash of Rs five lakh besides a citation. Soon after coming to power, the Congress government led by Y S Rajasekhara Reddy stopped presenting the NTR National Award instituted by the previous TDP government. This led to a major controversy in the state with the TDP threatening to present the award on behalf of the party if the State government failed to do so. But this being the election year, the Congress government revised the award and selected the four eminent film personalities for the honour. Meanwhile, the State government also announced the prestigious Raghupathi Venkaiah Award, the Telugu equivalent of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Noted poet-producer-director M S Reddy has been chosen for the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for 2005 and top producer D Ramanaidu for 2006. The award carries a reward of Rs 50,000 and a golden Nandi.

NTR to portray Brahmin’s role

The regular shooting of a film in the combination of NT Rama Rao and Ileana under the direction of VV Vinayak, presented by Kodali Nani and produced by Vallabhaneni Vamsi was launched in Hyderabad on October 24. It is also well aware that NTR is playing dual roles. NTR also has a passion to do different kinds of roles and this time he is donning a Brahmin’s role, while the other character will be a mass character. Ileana is pairing up with NTR as a girl from an upper caste family, Ramaprabha is playing the grandmother of NTR, Sayaji Shinde is playing DGP, while Kaajal Agarwal is playing his daughter. Kaajal Agarwal would be the heroine for NTR in his mass character. Devisri Prasad is scoring for the flick and the producer is making efforts to release the film by next summer.

It is learnt that a girl has been selected as heroine opposite Naga Chaitanya but the producer of the film Dil Raju is maintaining secret. Gossips are making rounds that Shwetha Prasad is also playing one among the heroines.

Urmila Matondkar acts pricey, turns down Yashraj

Mumbai, Oct 27: After delivering a slew of duds, the once sought after Yash Raj Films has lost its sheen. So much so that actresses of the likes of Urmila Matondkar, who are facing a lean mean professional glitch, are refusing to be part of the projects offered by the big banner. According to insiders, Urmila, whose acting skills have been appreciated in the latest revival of the classic ‘Karz’, was reportedly approached by Yash Raj Films for one of their forthcoming flicks. But the sassy babe turned down the offer citing the role as insignificant. Besides the Yash Raj banner backing up the movie that has been tentatively titled Hidaba, it also had stars like Shahid and Rani in the main lead. Urmila was reportedly offered a prominent role but the sultry siren backed off saying the role was not meaty enough.

Mahesh’s plans

Mahesh Babu is the only hope for ruling Congress Party. The party badly needs a ‘star’ in order to compete with TDP, which has Nandamuri stars, and Prajarajyam Party that has megastar Chiranjeevi. Although many lesser known actors and fade-out actresses like Jayasudha have joined the party, Congress knows that they can’t pull the crowds. Hence it is pressurizing Superstar Krishna to make his son canvassing for the party during the election. With pressure mounting on, Mahesh Babu has planned his new film schedule in such way that he would be away from Andhra Pradesh. Mahesh Babu’s current film with director Trivikram begins from November 3rd (tentative date) in Hyderabad and later shifts to Rajasthan. In January and February, the unit leaves for abroad for ‘lengthy shoot’. According to our sources, Mahesh wants to be in some distant place during the election period so that he could skip the canvassing and pressure from the Congress party.

Kajal to be paired up with 'Young Tiger'

Search is on for the second female lead for NTR's current movie. Buzz is that young heroine Kajal is being considered for the role in this film directed by V V Vinayak. NTR dons dual role in the movie while Ileana is the main heroine. Although, it has not yet been finalised, discussions are going on. Kajal is currently shooting for Rajamouli's film opposite Ram Charan Teja. The movie has not yet completed 50 per cent shoot, hence she has to provide another two months of dates for the film. Kajal is trying hard to provide her dates to be paired up with NTR.

NTR to skip Yuva Garzana

NTR is staying away from Telugu Desam Party's Yuva Garjana meet in Guntur. He was to participate in the party's meeting on November 5th along with other Nandamuri heroes - Balakrishna, Tarakaratna and Kalyan Ram. He is reportedly upset over the assembly seat of Gannavaram constitutency. NTR tried the seat for Vallabhaneni Vamsi who is currently producing a movie with the star and directed by NTR but TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is in favour of another candidate who has backing of Harikrishna - Kalyan Ram. Upset with the turn of events, NTR is not attending the meeting. Even Chandrababu Naidu has confirmed this news. NTR is busy now shooting for his current film that has begun its shoot two days ago and the current schedule lasts till Oct 13. It is learnt that NTR has planned this schedule deliberately to avoid the Yuva Garjana.

After his directorial debut Dostana with mentor Karan Johar, Tarun Mansukhani is going to strike again with a Dharma Productions film, Koochie Koochie Hota Hai. This animated version of Karan’s directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is being co-produced by Prana Studios, a Los Angeles and Mumbai based renowned 3D animation studio. Sources claim, “Tarun has already begun working on this animated love story remake. There are only three main characters of SRK, Kajol and Rani and currently the production team is working on the set up of the film. It’s going to be a huge task to have similar set up but animated as the music of the film will be the same. The dubbing of the each characters is remaining. SRK will start work on this project by February. This film will show the love triangle of dogs.”

Dil Raju impressed with 'Yuvata'

Producer Dil Raju is said to have maha impressed with Yuvata. After watching the film, he has bought the film’s distribution rights for Nizam area and Vizag. The Telugu version of the autobiography of Advani was released on the hands of Ramoji Rao yesterday. Dr Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad translated from the original work 'My Life My Country' and titled it as 'Naa Jeevitham Na Desam'. There have been many impressions those have circled among people and political circles followed by this event. A congress leader said, "Birds of same feather flock together. Advani is a man who ignites communal clashes in the name of Hindutwa and Ram Janma Bhoomi. He is 81 but still an extremist. And Ramoji Rao is 70 plus but still a caste chauvinist. He is known for bringing clashes among various castes and glorifying Kamma community. If Ramoji Rao pens his autobiography, Advani may release that. And the apt title for Ramoji's biography would be 'Naa Kulam Naa Dabbu' (My Caste and My Money). So there is nothing wrong in Ramoji-Advani union". Now Babji (Naresh) decides to become a cop and kidnaps a new cop and takes his place. He starts searching for the loot and he also wins the impression of the commissioner. He also manages to win the heart of Archana (Sayali), the commissioner's daughter but then his search continues. Whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story.

When Aamir Khan’s look in his upcoming film Ghajini was released recently, little did anyone know that his picture with rippled muscles would turn out to be a nightmare for Dr Surekha Verma, a resident of Kanjurmarg in Mumbai, who has nothing to do with the film.A source said, “One of the assistant directors of Ghajini wrote a random number as a temporary tattoo on Aamir’s body. The pictures of Aamir were then printed in the newspaper. However, the number happened to be a lady’s number, who has nothing to do with either Aamir or the film. She received several calls asking for Aamir Khan.Initially,she wondered why she was getting calls from strangers. She realised what was happening only after she saw her number in the film still.” When contacted, Aamir said, “I really regret the inconvenience caused to the lady whose number was tattooed on my arm. On the day it was published, I received over 900 SMSes regarding my Ghajini look!” The producer of Ghajini, Madhu Varma said, “We will apologise to the lady and offer her a new phone connection.” In the film, Aamir plays a man who loses his memory after every 15 minutes because of which he writes everything that he needs to remember on his body for quick reference.

The shooting of Nagarjuna’s King is going great guns in Hyderabad. This is the first time Trisha is acting with Nag. Directed by Srinu Vaitla, the movie has been scripted with the Yuvasamrat in mind. Her roles in these movies have a realistic touch and are rooted in everyday life, according to Trisha. On her experience with Abhiyum Naanum, Trisha said, “A different film, it talks about the bond between father and daughter. I have worked with Prakashraj in several movies and we share a good rapport on screen. Radha Mohan’s endeavour is an engrossing tale, far away from commercial cinema.” On her other films, she says, “Vishnuvardhan and his team of sophisticated technicians are working round-the-clock for Sarvam. Ayyappa, directed by S.M. Praveen and produced under Stylus Media banner with Saikiran as hero was completed recently. Speaking on the occasion, the director stated, “You can worship God in any form and you will be benefited. Likewise, if a person keeps Ayyappa's image in mind and worships him in the prescribed format, the Lord will definitely give him everything he needed including money, health and long life. How the life of a wayward youth was stabilized due to Ayyappa is the basic subject of the movie. We have completed shooting recently and presently editing is in progress. Krishna Vamsi teams up with Teja

Krishna Vamsi, two-time national awarding winning director, is joining hands with maverick producer-director, Teja for Rudraksha produced under his Chitram Movies banner. Teja’s new film Kayka (also spelt Keka) starring new faces Raja and Ishaana releasing on October 23 was also produced under the same banner. A buzz was created around the film when the identities of the lead pair was kept under wraps until very recently. Krishna Vamsi is now busy with Sasirekha Parinayam (inspired by an episode in the classic Telugu flick Mayabazaar) starring Tarun and Genelia. Both directors are from Ram Gopal Varma’s school of film making, making them out-of-the-box thinkers. It will be worth waiting to see what these two geniuses will bring on screen. Rudraksha will commence sometime in early 2009.

Sabhash, Sumanth's incomplete film, has been renamed Vijay IPS and Nattikumar has taken up the project for completion. Hanumanth Reddy is the producer. The film has completed shooting and is getting ready for release in November. Sumanth's second film Boni, directed by debutant Raja Pipaala produced by music director-turned-producer Ramana Gogula under the uniquely named banner Green Mangoes, is also progressing at a brisk pace and will be ready for release in December. Insiders say that the young star has a role with some negative shades and that he’s gone out on a limb doing such a role at this stage of his film career. The heroine is a relatively unknown from Bangalore whom Ramana plans to introduce to the media and the public through a press conference. Even though he hails from a star-studded family like the Akkinenis, Sumanth has not had it easy and is climbing the rungs of stardom on his own steam. He is also known to be progressive and has said that he wouldn’t to have any comedy scenes (in his movies) aimed at the gay community as it might hurt some of his friends from the same community.

Today the shooting has been started at a slum area, located behind Borabanda Railway Station in Hyderabad. The first schedule is planned from 24th October to 12th November. Producer Vamsi Mohan briefing on the details of the schedule said, "From 24th till 28th Oct, the episode featuring the child will be done. From 29th onwards, till the 4th of Nov, we will film introduction part of the lead on a huge level. Then from 5th to 12th a song will be canned in a mammoth set at Ramoji Film City. Ileyana is one of the heroines opposite NTR and the other heroine is yet to be selected." After blockbusters like 'Adi' and 'Samba' this is the third film in combination of NTR and VV Vinayak, and the duo are expecting a hat-trick with this film.

'Quantum of Solace' releases 7th Nov

The adventures of agent 007 James Bond, always has a special attraction for spectators around the world. The films have great fans in India too. Presently, Daniel Craig paired with Olga Kurylenko the 22nd Bond film 'Quantum of Solace' is getting ready for a world wide release. Dil Raju's 'Yuvatha' out on 7th

Industry circles and political circles are pretty keen on Pawan Kalyan's "Puli". Industry circles are naturally always high about Pawan Kalyan's projects. S Ramesh is producing the film for Kanakaratna Movies banner directed by S.J.Surya. The film is tentatively being referred as Puli by the media. However, sources say that the film might be titled 'Komaram Puli'. Also, it is heard a few episodes from the life of Che Guevara formed inspiration for some sequences in the film. Assured that the film is not about Che Guevara, the episodes are modulated to fit the present political and social circumstances. This is not a political film though but might subtly touch on how development can be brought in into the present society. And few sequences thought out for Pawan's Satyagrahi might find place in this film too. Action sequence is recently shot at Aluminum factory with 41 fighters. Latest technology is used to film a rope fight with these fighters. Makers are planning to wrap up the film by March and release the film in April.

Yeleti-Manoj combo begins shoot

Chandrasekher Yeleti, who earned a very good name as a technical director with films like ‘Aithe’, ‘Anukokunda Oka Roju’ and ‘Okkadunnadu’ is planning another film on his own banner. The shooting of the film was formally launched with puja activities at his office in Hyderabad. Manchu Manoj, who gave a super performance in the recent film ‘Nenu Meeku Telusa’, is playing the hero, while search is on for a new face for the female lead. A part of the film had to be shot abroad as per the demand of the story. The director scripted the story in such a way that it would have art film’s flavour and at the same time will have commercial values, it is reliably learnt. It is further learnt that Manoj was very much impressed with the story and insisted that he would do the film.

Maa TV bags satellite rights of NTR’s flick

Maa TV had paid a fancy price for the satellite rights of the yet to be named and yet to be launched film in the combination of NT Rama Rao, Ileana and Kaajal Agarwal under the direction of VV Vinayak, presented by Kodali Nani and produced by Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan. The film is most likely to start rolling from October 24. It is a point worth mentioning here that the Maa TV purchased those rights on the day of its formal launch. It is reliably learnt that the popular television channel had paid Rs 4 crore for the purpose. The satellite rights of Raviteja-Puri Jagannath’s combo ‘Neninthe’ too had gone in favour of Maa TV, it is learnt.

Tollywood comedians are daring their way, entering into the big competition as heroes. It is known that Ali, Venu Madhav, Suneel, Krishna Bhagavan, and Brahmanandam have tried their hands in this transition. Latest in the que is 'Satyam' Rajesh, who was introduced as a comedian with 'Satyam' that starred Sumanth as hero. The new film casting 'Satyam' Rajesh as hero will be produced by an industrialist from Vizag. A young director is said to be introduced with this film.

Prabhas Raju Uppalapati widely known as Prabhas is a leading young star in Tollywood. He stepped into to cinema industry, as a successor to Rebel Star Krishnam Raju. 'Naa Girl Friend Baaga Rich' starring Shivaji and Kaveri Jha in the main cast is all set for release during the first week of November. The movie is directed by M. Tamanna not working with Allari Naresh

It had been reported earlier that Tamanna had agreed to do a film opposite Allari Naresh, titled Padmasri Edukondalu. Like all Naresh starrers, this one too was slated to be a laugh-a-minute comedy entertainer. Debutant Vijaya Saradhi will be directing it and Mupparapu Sathyanarayana will be producing it.But then Tamanna has refuted the media reports that she will be working with Allari Naresh in the near future. She stated that she was in no way involved in the filming of [Padmasri Edukondalu] and that that there was no clear cut reason as to why the producers would have announced her name as heroine without her consent. She clarified that she has only one film in Telugu opposite Siddharth and that her call sheets are full for the next one year.

Anjani Putrudu,a socio-fantasy movie

Nagendrababu, Ramya Krishna and Prema are playing the lead in Anjani Putrudu directed and produced by K Chandrasekhar under the banner of Vinayaka Films. It is basically a socio-fantasy movie. Producer-cum-director says, "We recently shot a song on Chandramohan and some child artistes at Ramalayam in Tulasinagar of Hyderabad recently. The talkie part shooting was almost complete. We shot the climax scenes with a fight at Ramoji Film City between Nagendrababu and Aghora. One more devotional song was choreographed at Veeranjaneya temple in Maredpally of Hyderabad. With this we have almost wrapped up the film shooting but for the canning of two more songs. Co-producers Sai Ramesh and Sekhar Kalluri say, "Ramireddy is playing the role of a sorcerer in this movie and the shooting would be completed by October 25."

'Avakai Briyani' in the first week of Nov

Distinctly titled movie 'Aavakai Biryani' starring debutants Kamal Kamaraju, Bindu Madhavi as the hero and heroine is being made in the direction of Anish Kuruvilla. 'Wall Poster' readied to be posted

A wall poster is not being made for the movie but it’s the title of the movie itself. ‘Wall Poster’ having Manmohan and Madhu Sharma in the star cast, is being directed by Vijay. K Venkat is producing this movie on Sneha Reddy Creations banner. The shooting of the film is almost complete with the pending work of two songs and the climax that is yet to be canned. Presently, the shooting is in progress at Ramoji Film City. Director Vijay briefing on the works told that recently a song and the climax sequences were shot for 15 days continously. The climax scenes are canned in the supervision of fight master Nandu. With this, excluding two songs the shooting is completed. We are planning to feature the remaining songs in the locales of Mourishes & Phuket. 'Romeo' tunes in Vizag

'Romeo' is being produced by L. Eeshwar as the Production No.1 of Living Legendz Creations, starring Aryan Rajesh and Shradha Arya. Srihari does a prominent demeanor in this movie directed by debutant Ramakrishna. Presently, a song is being canned in Vizag and the makers are planning to launch the movie in December. Currently, a song 'Unna nuvvunna chota…' is being shot on Aryan Rajesh and Shradha Arya, near Rishi Konda beach, at Vizag. The music is composed by Agastya. Briefing on the proceedings producer said, “After shooting the song, some action scenes will be filmed at Araku from 22nd followed by a fight sequence and another song in the locales of Vizag. Later a song and climax scenes will be done at Hyderabad, this will complete the finale of shooting. The post-production works will be wrapped up by November 15 and the film is planned to get ready for a December release.” Director Ramakrishna said that the film has all the elements like live action, sentiment, romance and humor all etched in to the plot. The other cast includes Chandra Mohan, Thanikella Bharani, Raghu Babu, Santosh Pawan, Suman Shetty, Chitram Sreenu, Satyam Rajesh, Gowthamraju, Harshvardhan, Sairababu, Vichitram Harsha and others.

Teja's 'Keka' in Tamil

Starring Raja and Ishana as the main pair, approximately after two years director Teja is directing the film 'Keka' on Chitram Movies banner. It is known that Teja has introduced about 36 new faces with this film. This film made with a concept of reverse screenplay contains elements like love, friendship, fraud, crime, affection and attraction. The story revolves around 5-characters. Teja has made this film simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. The Telugu version titled as 'Keka' is releasing on 23rd (tomorrow) while the Tamil version will be released after 2-weeks. It is learnt that mostly a new title will be chosen for the film. Currently, the unit is shooting in the locales of Hyderabad, and right now it is going on at Gachibowli. Here, some key sequences are being canned on hero Sumanth. Kruthi Ahuja is playing the lead lady role in this film. As an already established actress is known by the name Kruthi in the industry, it is learnt that there are chances of changing the heroine's name.

KS Ramarao’s request to utilize piracy cell

Piracy has become a menace in the film industry. Recently, it is seen that, the very next day of a movie release, the pirated CDs are made and released in to the market. Overseas prints is said to be one of the reasons for this. In a press meet held at FilmChamber office on 22nd, to discuss various issues on piracy, producer KS Ramarao urged the producers to inform the piracy cell when they are releasing a film. Speaking to the press he said, “Four years ago, in an all members meeting held by Film Chamber and Producers Council, we have decided to set about making a Piracy Cell to eradicate this illegal business. It was formed and Shyam Prasad Reddy was appointed as the chairman. Presently, retired police officer Kesav Reddy is the chairman.” ‘Under this piracy cell, we have posted employees for various districts. To utilize the services of the cell, every producer has to inform the cell, before their film is released. Without fulfilling this requirement, they are commenting on the Piracy Cell. This is not correct; we have booked about 510 cases under piracy act since the inception of this piracy cell. To make this work properly we need the support of every producer.’ The Chairman of the Piracy Cell, Kesav Reddy said, “Since May 2005 till today we have registered over 510 cases on this issue. Out of these, 29 have been punished and we are pursuing steps to issue verdicts on the rest.”

'Devarakonda Veeraiah' audio released

The film maker who chooses social problems faced by the civilians as his theme to make movies is R Narayana Murthy. Taking the recent brutal incidents, the murders of young girls, as the backdrop he is making the film 'Devarakonda Veeraiah'. The audio of this film is released on 21st of this month at Prasad’s Preview Theatre, Hyderabad. The President of State Nayee Brahmins Association, Mr. Devarakonda Nagaraju released the audio. Speaking on this occasion the move maker R Narayana Murthy said, "Parents of recent times have high hopes on their children be it a boy or a girl. Assume, if the girl is murdered brutally, how those parents would feel and respond to the tragedy. The story of this film is of a father who looses his daughter in a tragic occurrence. What this father, who had lots of hopes on his child, does for his daughter forms the story line of 'Devarakonda Veeraiah'." Lyricist Vangapandu Prasad Rao said, “It is a song that has brought me close to Narayana Murthy. It's been 20 years of our friendship. My songs which are presented in local villages on streets, is taken on to the screen for a wide group of audience by Narayana Murthy. I wish this film, which is made for the people, will turn out successful.” Suddala Ashok Teja, JayaRaju, Daivagna Sharma, 'VandeMatharam' Srinivas, Aditya Dayanand and other prominent people were present on the occasion.

Supreme Raju's film casts Tarun

The Supreme Audio Company has successfully released the music of many blockbuster movies in Tollywood. The head of Supreme Audio, Raju Hirwani has ventured in to production and made his first film 'Asthram' with Vishnu and Anushka in the main role, in the direction of 'Bhasha' fame Suresh Krishna, on Supreme Movies Pvt Ltd banner. He took a break for some time, as his first film was not successful at the box office. Now he is back to produce a new film based on a love story, with Tarun playing the lead role. A young debutant director will be introduced with this film. The shooting will begin from 15th November.

'Dil'Raju bids Srikanth Addala again

NTR’s ‘MLA’ forays February

'Aadi' casting NTR in the lead, was produced by Nallamalapu Srinivas (Bujji) on Lakshmi Narasimha Productions banner. The producer is planning to make a new film with NTR again. The will be directed by Hari Shankar of 'Shock' fame. The movie Shock was recognized widely and attained a niche for the director. His initial attempt directing NTR is expected to be a success. NTR always have a close association with Lakshmi Narasimha productions and the makers expect to make MLA as a grand endeavor. The title 'MLA' with a tagline – Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbai is under consideration. It is learnt from reliable sources that the regular shooting of this film will start from February.

Ravi Teja flies to Canada

Surendar Reddy is acquainted as a good director through films like 'Athanokkade', 'Ashok' and 'Athidi'. Pitting RaviTeja against Ileana in the main lead roles, he is presently directing a huge budgeted film, produced by Venkat on RR Movie Makers banner. The movie was launched on 9th of this month on Dussera. It is planned to shoot a major part of this film in foreign locations. NTR-Bujji film is MLA?

M.L.A – It is the title under consideration for NTR's film with Nallamalupu Srinvias (Bujji), which is likely to go to floors in February 2009. Reports say the title is the abbreviated form of – Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi. Direction is by Harish Shankar. The story discussions are going on. Rajendra Prasad will enact the role of hero's dad in this film. The title assumed signififance in the wake of NTR's participation in the forthcoming political fare of TDP titled Yuva Garjana in Guntur.

Their biggest venture together 'Taal' won laurels across the boundaries of globe. And now they are back swaying with their musical drama 'Yuvvraaj'. Audio launch for the film wasn't a star-spangled occasion, but just a private musical gathering at a plush five-star hotel in Mumbai. Turning down entire spotlights on them, Director Subash Ghai and music maestro A.R.Rahman, legendry lyricist Gulzar and playback singer Alka Yagnik were present for the occasion. A.R. Rahman's mother who is rarely spotted in such occasion was present there launching the audio and showered her blessings on entire cast and crew. Much delighted A.R. Rahman spoke on the occasion, "It has always been a pleasure working with Subhashji in all his projects. We worked on Taal, which gave me immense creative satisfaction as a composer and it was an honor that Yuvvraaj was offered to me. Working on the music of Yuvvraaj has been a creative challenge for me, as Subhashji has always been associated with melodious music and has a vast understanding about the subject. Once you have an artistic mind like Subhashji behind you I guess everything falls rightly in its place. Taal was a mega success and I see Yuvvraaj to be much bigger than that." A.R. Balakrishna’s in a song

Producer Shivalenk Krishna Prasad has earlier produced ‘Aditya 369’, ‘Vamsanikokkadu’ on Sridevi Movies banner. Now, he is in his current venture with Balakrishna starring the lead in his production who is pitted for the first time against actress Priyamani. The movie was launched on 10th October on Vaishnavi Cinemas banner at State Arts Gallery, Hyderabad. This Balakrishna’s movie is being directed by Mahadev, an aide of Rajamouli, the director of hat-tricks as his maiden trial. The film planned to be shot in Malaysia and Rajamundry has now been commenced with the canning of a song featuring the leads, at Ramoji film city. Kola Bhaskar edits this movie and the camera is cranked by Bala Murugan. Manisharma composes the music for this ongoing project.

'Kavi' completes First Schedule

‘Kavi’ has completed the first schedule of its shooting, directed by ‘Sevenstar’ Sriram, the main leads enacted by Sikinder, Prashita. Producer K Ram mohan rao is making this movie on RMK productions banner. In the recent past, the movie has completed its first phase of shooting and is about to begin its next shortly. On this occasion, the unit arranged a press meet on 17th October at Visweshwaraiah guest house. Producer K Ram Mohan said, “The movie has completed its first schedule of shooting which has been canned in Rajahmundry and its surrounding locales. The second schedule will start shortly. There are a total of 7 songs in the movie. The movie has been slated to be released by the end of October or in the first week of November.” AVS, Duvvasi Mohan, Sikinder, Raghunatha reddy, director Sevenstar Sriram and others attended this press meet.

Producers Repine Piracy

Piracy is deemed as the most known material that renders support for the deterioration of the film industry. Producers Nallamalupu Bujji, ‘Dil’ Raju, Teja and Anand Prasad organized a press meet on 17th October to express their discontent about piracy that is leeching the entire Telugu industry. The makers were quite dissatisfied with the backseat attitude of the Government who takes no responsibility to eradicate piracy and they also monitored the anti-video piracy cell established to look into the effect of the work carried out. Producer Teja said that he was completely unaware of the raging piracy problem or about the anti-piracy cell, until his son handed him the dvd’s of the latest movies that he bought from Salem. Teja outraged on this issue said,” Piracy is stealing. People think that it a theft only when gold or money is stolen. But stealing someone’s work is also illegal. I am ready to take the law in my hands and eradicate this issue.” He also makes an enquiry to the audience of what will they be doing if their property is stolen. Dil Raju appealed to the audience, not to see the movie by pirated discs and in theatres, so as to feel the full effect of the meticulously made movie. He also added that thousands of families are dependant upon the industry and piracy affects their daily meal. Anand Prasad said,” The lowered ticket prizes had added fuel to the already burning issue of Piracy. I seek the Government’s attention to look into it and solve our producers conundrum. If this continues, there will be a time when all the theatres will be closed and it will be the end of Tollywood.” The producers expressed their deep regret upon this issue and elucidated the press about their queries and made a note to the public to help eradicate piracy.

‘Dil’ Raju distributes 'Surya S/o Krishna' in Naizam

Surya does a dual role opposite Sameera Reddy and Ramya as heroines, in the direction of Goutham Menon, Aascar RaviChandran is producing 'Suray S/o Krishna' on Aascar Films Pvt Ltd banner. Sushanth's 'Current' commences 19th

Grand son of Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nephew to Akkineni Nagarjuna, Sushanth is the new upcoming hero who debuted to screen with 'Kalidasu', which was commercially successful. The film was presented by Annapurna Studios, and produced by Chinthalapudi Srinivas Rao and A Nagasuseela on Sri Nag Corporations. The movie makers are now making a new film with Sushanth in the lead which is his 2nd endeavor, which also happens to be the second production of Sri Nag Corporation. Sneha Ullal is the heroine for this film titled 'Current'. SuryaPrathap who earlier worked for star producers D.Sureshbabu under director Sukumar for 'Arya' and apprenticed under director Bhasker for 'Bommarillu' is debuting as a director with this film. The movie will be launched on 19th October, in the presence of Akkineni family members said the producers. Sumanth’s 'Vijay IPS' on 31st

Sumanth, Chandini plays the lead cast in the movie directed by K Hanumanth Reddy, titled ‘Vijay IPS’. Producer Natti Kumar is making the film on Visakha Talkies banner. The film is presented by Master Kranthi. The postproduction work has been completed and the film is scheduled for a release on the 31st of this month. In connection with this a press meet was organized by the director and producer of the film on 16th at the office of Film Chamber. He said, “Sumanth has not enacted in this kind of a role earlier. This is a full length action entertainer and audience will sure appreciate it.”

JD’s 'Marana Homam' or 'Moksham'

Introduced to Tollywood as a villain with RamGopal Varma's debut directorial venture 'Shiva', later found success as a hero, JD Chakravarthy also ventured in to direction with 'Homam' starring Jagapati babu. It is known that a sequel is being planned for this film tentatively titled as 'Marana Homam’, before the release of 'Homam'. The action flick Homam made it to the box office and reaped recognition for the director. Sources say that director JD Chakravarthy is observing 'Moksham' as a title for the sequel instead of 'Marana Homam'. Jagapathi Babu will appear as an Encounter Specialist in this film, and a part of it will be reeled in Lahore, Pakistan. The regular shooting will commence from 23rd of this month.

Charmme – Shashank's pairs up again

Earlier a film in the direction of Chandra Sekhar Yelleti, with Charmme and Shashank in the lead, titled as 'Anukokunda Oka Roju' was made, which went on to become a hit in the box office. After a long gap, Charmme and Shashank have come together for a film, to be produced by Manjula, daughter of senior super star Krishna and the sister of star hero Maheshbabu, who attained fame with the ‘Show’ on Indira Productions banner. Mahesh Babu’s sensational hit ‘Pokiri’ was earlier co-produced by Manjula. Charmme is well acclaimed in Tollywood and so is Shashank whose hands are full with three movies which are in different phases of production. 'Billa' in Vizag

‘Billa’, a Tamil movie is now being remade in Telugu starring Prabhas and Anushka in the lead cast. Namitha is restating the same role of CJ again from the former ‘Billa’. The movie made earlier in Tamil starred Ajith and Nayanthara and was directed by Vishnuvardhan. The Telugu ‘Billa’ is being directed by Meher Ramesh, the man behind ‘Kanthri’. Gopikrishna Movies serves host for the banner of the production house of Prabhod and Narendra. The film was launched on 9th this month on the eve of VijayaDasami. A shooting schedule is planned to take place at the locales of Vizag from 20th to 27th of this month. During this schedule, a song will be reeled featuring hero Prabhas and Anushka, choreographed by Prem Rakshith. Adding to this, a fight sequence is planned to be shot in the same location. Followed by this, shooting is planned at Malaysia, Bangkok and Dubai. An interesting scoop is, the script has already been made titled as ‘Don’ twice in Hindi and titled ‘Billa’ twice in Tamil. All of those were blockbuster hits in their respective languages. This fifth remake of this film, for which Hollywood technicians are working, is going to be made on high standards.

'Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum' starts Nov

'Comedy Express' arrived at second schedule station

It is made on a comedy scale to tickle the spectators which will be commenced from the month of December. Aishwarya Rai's acquisition

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan the former miss world and Bollywood actress, is currently shooting in Brazil for Shankar's 'Yanthram' paired with Rajinikanth. The film is being made at the same time in Tamil (Enthiram) and Telugu. Simultaneously, she is working on a huge project, in Tamil opposite Vikram and in Hindi paired with Abhishek Bachchan. Manirathnam is the director of this venture titled as 'Ravana' for Hindi and tentatively titled as Production No.11 for Tamil. It is learnt that Aish is taking tuition's in Tamil from a professor, for this project which is made in the backdrop of the epic Ramayana. Maniratnam is renowned for perfection and to play the role of a Brahmin girl, the director has also insisted the actress to learn the basics of Carnatic music. On a whole, Aishwarya Rai is undertaking meticulous efforts to bring out the desired effect.

'Devarakonda Veeraiah' in first week of November

R Narayana Murthy is a film maker who makes it a point to take current political issues and social problems as the main theme for his films, which make the viewers to ponder over the subjects. His latest venture is based on the assaults on women in our society. The film titled as 'Devarakonda Veeraiah' is produced on Sneha Chitra Pictures banner. The movie presently under post-production work is going to be released in the first week of November. Speaking on this occasion director R.Narayana Murthy announced that the post productions work is in progress. The audio will be released in the upcoming week, and the film is scheduled for release in early November. He added that in the present society, parents have more hope on their girl child. With this as the backdrop, the story of the film is woven around, a father who lays many hopes on his child, and one day he finds that his daughter has committed suicide. What are the consequences of it, how did he deal with the people who caused it carries the movie forward to the end. Since quite a few years, the assaults on women have increased, we know that Ayesha's case is still pending, and the government could not find the solution to the mystery. We have taken up such incidents in this film. If not all, movies made with such themes will linger in the minds of the audiences thus evoking thoughts to make a better future.

'Hero' audio reaps exceptional response

‘Hero’ is directed by GV Sudhakar Naidu, starring stylish hero Nithin and Bhavana playing the lead pair. The movie is presented by Manyam Suryanarayana and produced by Manyam Ramesh on Manyam Entertainments banner. The making of this film has been completed and post-production work is undergoing presently. The audio of this movie has been launched earlier and now with connection to this a press meet was organized on 14th in the production company’s office. On this occasion speaking to the press producer Manyam Ramesh said, “We are getting an extraordinary response to the music of 'Hero' from the audience. ManiSharma has composed an excellent opera; especially, the melody song rendered by him is attaining special response. There are a total of 5-songs in the film, and one of the item songs is done by TanuRai. We have featured the 'Sye kurrade…' song featuring dancers from Mumbai. Right now, the final mixing is being done. We are releasing the film throughout the state on 23rd with a whopping number of 100 prints.” The producer has given us a great music director for this film. After considering all the categories we have incorporated 5-songs in to the film. Visually, they have been well made, said the actor turned director GV Sudhakar Naidu. Rajinikanth's open statement

Actor Rajnikanth has released a report, answering the question of his fans. In the recent past, ardent fans of the star imposed a strong pressure on him, to make his foray in to politics. People of the fan club created a flag and a party name unofficially. Rajnikanth made clear that he can neither be forced in to politics nor be pushed out of it, if he decides to take a plunge into it. He also pointed out that stars of other states are venturing in to politics but that doesn't mean he should do the same. Fans of Rajnikanth can indulge themselves with any party of their choice without limitations. But, propagating an unofficial party name or flag in the name of the actor is highly condemned. Moreover, those who undergo unauthorized anti-association activities will be dismissed from the association and if it continues further, legal action will be taken.

Venkatesh confirmed in Marmayogi

A while ago, the media was agog with reports of Venkatesh being offered a part in Kamal Haasan’s Marmayogi. Now Venkatesh has confirmed that he is indeed acting in Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus. This big budget film is expected to cost over 120 crore, reportedly the most expensive Indian movie so far. He stated, “I am very happy to play alongside Kamal Haasan. It is a story that happened a few centuries ago. My role is not just restricted to a scene or a guest appearance like a flash on the screen. It is a full-length role. Moreover, my role is very important in the development of the story. I can't reveal more details now. We are all aware that Kamal Hassan always wants to deliver a breakthrough performance. Every artiste can and should learn so many things from him.” He added, “The Telugu film industry should also have good subjects very different from routine films. I am ready to do any kind of role, if the writer or director brings me a story that impresses me. But these days, no writers are able to impress artistes with gripping subjects. They bring the same old subjects. I will attend the regular shooting of Marmayogi in November. Story discussions are also in progress for a film with Krish of Gamyam fame. After these films, I have agreed to act in a film that Srinu Vaitla will be directing."

Gangaraju's son to turn director

Gunnam Gangaraju is a successful producer and director. He is now launching his son Gunnam Sandeep as director in a film produced by Anand Arts, starring Varun Sandesh of Happy Days fame as hero. The film will be a remake of the hit Tamil film Pollaadhavan which starred Dhanush. Sandeep had earlier worked as cameraman for Amma Cheppindi directed by his father. Varun Sandesh’s Kotha Bangaru Lokam opposite debutante Swetha Prasad hit the screen last week to rave reviews.

Sneha Ullal, busy as a bee

Sneha Ullal, known as the Aishwarya Rai lookalike, tasted success with Ullasamga Utsahamgaa. She first entered films in Bollywood with the Salman Khan starrer Lucky, which did not prove too lucky for her. After Ullasamga Utsahamgaa’s success, she now has many films on hand, both in Telugu as well as Hindi. She has been signed up to play opposite Sushanth, Nagarjuna’s nephew for his second film to be directed by Prathap. She has given a very convincing and sparking performance in the Manoj starrer Nenu Meeku Telusa. Sneha Ullal has also been signed up for Ashok Tyagi's Hindi film Aryan and for a Hollywood flick Gandhi Park to be directed by Tom George, starring Anupam Kher and Vikas Kalantri plus some other flicks like Sangeet Sivan's Click opposite Shreyas Talpade, Kaash Mere Hote and a special appearance with Kapil Sharma in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron.

Chennai Kadhal becomes Prema

Chennai Kadhal, starring Bharath and Genelia, was a super hit in Tamil a couple of years ago. Seeing the success of this film of an aimless youth who’s reformed by the love of a young girl, the film’s makers are now dubbing the flick in Telugu as Prema. Muthyala Ramdas and Kalpana are producing the film in Telugu. Vikraman of Vasantham and Cheppave Chirugali fame is the director. Brahmanandam and Tamil cinema’s famous villain Radha Ravi have given brilliant performances as the parents of the lead pair. Joshua has scored the music.
Dubbing works are now in progress and the film will hit screens by the end of October.

Nagarjuna to star in OSO remake

Nagarjuna, who is busy shooting for King starring Trisha, will soon star in the remake of the hit Hindi film Om Shanthi Om (OSO). The film will start shooting once Nagarjuna is free from his current assignment King. This is the first time that Nagarjuna is acting opposite Trisha. King, directed by the inimitable Srinu Vaitla, is expected to be released in December in time for the New Year festivities. A well known producer-director is said to have acquired the remake rights of OSO and is keen that only Nagarjuna reprise the role played by Shahrukh Khan. The search is on for a suitable heroine to play Deepika Padukone's role. The producer would naturally prefer Deepika for the role and is said to have approached her.

Ileana's new flick with V.N. Aditya

After four years of climbing to the top and working almost non-stop, pretty Ileana took almost five months off to relax and unwind after her mega-hit Jalsa opposite Pawan Kalyan. She has now decided to do roles that showcase her acting skills, not just her glamorous side alone. Ileana was recently in the news for turning down a plum assignment in Rajinikanth’s animation flick, Sultan The Warrior. It was rumoured that she had insisted on her usual remuneration of Rs. one crore, so Ochre Studios, the film’s Tamil producer, backed off. Now she’s on to greener pastures, having signed on a couple of select movies, one of them being V.N. Aditya’s untitled flick. Teja’s 'Keka' postponed to Oct 23

Director Teja’s Keka is postponed again. Now, the film will be hitting the screens on October 23. The film’s executive producer K.Jagadeeshwar Reddy announces: “Delay in Digital Intermediate process has made us to postpone it. We will release the movie on October 23.” It is known fact that ace cinematographer P.C.Sreeram, who handled the camera, will not allow to release the film unless he is satisfied with the grading and D.I. He is now busy giving final touches to the grading. Report is that the veteran cameraman has given knockout visuals and his work would be remembered for a long time.

Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s ‘Prayanam’

Sanghavi is now acting in a Tamil TV serial titled 'Gokulam lo Seetha'. The director said, “We are making efforts to release the film by the end of October. It is the story of a youth who wants to remain in the first position every time and everywhere. Potti Mogudu Banda Pellam starts shooting

Potti Mogudu Banda Pellam, starring Ravi Kumar, Ramya, Krishna Bhagawan, Suman Shetty and Geeta Singh, is being produced by M.N.R., presented by N. Radhakrishna Murthy under Good Day Productions banner and directed by Makkena Ranga. The movie, which started regular shooting schedules on Vijayadasami, October 9th, will be shot in Hyderabad, Araku, Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam. Junior Relangi, Apoorva, Allari Subhashini, Ragini and Gundu Hanumantha Rao are among the supporting star cast. Music is by Arjun. Mantena Narender has penned the story for which Nanduri Viresh has written dialogues. Suddala Santosh’s lyrics have been set to Arjun’s music, while camera will be wielded by Veena C. Anand.

Mahanagaramlo Siva, Chandu in October

The cosmopolitan tale Mahanagaramlo Siva, Chandu, starring Yashwant, Vijay Bhaskar and Poonam Singar, directed by G.L.B. Srinivas and produced by Siva is in the dubbing studios. The shooting was completed recently. The story is about three young boys who migrate to the city from three different parts of the state. They unknowingly get involved in the activities of a mafia gang. How they come out of it has been told in a novel and interesting way. Chitram Srenu, Mallikarjuna Rao, Ashokkumar, Benarjee, Satyaprakash, Sameer, Sudeepa, Madhumani, Rajita and Alapati Lakshmi have given superb supporting performances to complement the lead artistes’ roles.

Yuvatha in post-production

After Happy Days, Nikhil’s star is soaring and he’s been on a film signing spree along with his colleagues from that movie. Varun Sandesh and Gayathri Rao are two of his co-stars who have bagged some good roles with big banners. In fact, all the young stars of that college flick are doing well in Tollywood. Mumbai model Aksha, who is making her debut with Yuvatha, has given a stunning performance in the movie, which has completed all shooting schedules and is now in post-production. Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi today received roaring response to this road show in Vizianagaram district. ‘Arya-2’ shooting in progress at Annapurna

The regular shooting of ‘Arya-2’ with Allu Arjun and Kaajal Agarwal in the lead, directed by Sukumar is progressing on a lavish set erected at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The film is being made as a sequel to Arjun’s blockbuster ‘Arya’. Navadeep is playing another key role in the movie, while Devisri Prasad is scoring music for the flick being produced by BVSN Prasad and Aditya Babu. Producers say, ‘We are planning to release the film on May 9. It would be yet another different love story and would attract all classes of audiences. Moreover, Allu Arjun is giving a brilliant performance in the movie and it is on award-winning range for the hero.’

Surya s/o Krishnan audio launched

Surya is playing the hero, while Simran, Sameera Reddy and Ramya are playing the female leads in ‘Surya s/o Krishnan’, directed by Gautham Menon and produced by Oscar Ravichandran. Harris Jayaraj scored music for the flick and the audio of the Telugu version was launched in Hyderabad recently. Sumanth is the hero in Vijay IPS being produced by Nattikumar under Visakha Talkies banner with K. Hanumantha Reddy making his directorial debut. The film has completed all formalities and is getting ready for release. Sumanth plays a sincere police officer in this movie. The audio of Jabilamma was launched on Tuesday in Hyderabad in a glitzy ceremony. Directed by Suresh, presented by Ramakrishna Koganti and Challa Satya Varaprasad and produced by J. Sambasiva Rao under Sasidhar Productions, Jabilamma has Rajiv Kanakala and Navneet Kaur in the lead roles. Sriram Vikas scored tunes for six melodious songs and Madhura Entertainment is marketing the audio. Producer stated, “We are confident that the points we highlighted in the film will definitely attract audiences. The story of Jabilamma and what she did is the suspense. Presently the post-production works are nearing completion. We are making efforts to release the film in the second half of October.” The supporting star cast includes Asmith, Prasannakumar, Raghubabu, Telangana Sakuntala, Uttej, Rallapalli, Dhulipala, Raghu, Bhaskar, Allari Subhashini and Priyanka.

Injured youth in Chiru road show died

Madina, the youngster who got injured at wall collapse during PRP president's road show in Srikakulam yesterday, succumbed to his injuries today. The incident also left about ten persons injured. The PRP announced a financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh to the family members of Madina. Meanwhile, Chiru's Praja Ankita Yatra will continue in the North Andhra districts for the next two days.

Vikramarkudu is now being remade in Tamil for it’s sure to strike script. Viswamitra Creations is his own production house through which he directed Yamadonga. Item songs are sheer nonsense

Item songs are something that bothers Jothika quite a bit. She just can’t stand them and describes them as nonsense. Yes, it’s good to be glam once in a while but I feel these days, it has gone beyond limit. I guess even the audience does not like it,” she states. One word of advice to aspiring actors? “Act from the face and not from the body — that’s when you grow as an actor,” she says. One of the films in which she did that and which showed immensely onscreen was Snehitiye. Remind her of that film and she immediately breaks into a smile. “Being an all-girls film, we had awesome fun during the shoot,” she states, even as she reminisces incidents from the film.

Ram Charan’s dare devil act

Barring a few, many Tollywood stars prefer body doubles, especially for riding horses in films but new age star Ram Charan Tej intends to break this practice. "Horse riding has always fascinated me," informs the young lad. "It has been a joyful learning experience and even now I visit my friend’s stable whenever I feel like taking a ride," reveals the scion of Chiru family. Rarely, hobbies come in handy in professional lives but fortunately for the ebullient star, it did happen quite early in his career. "My upcoming film under Rajamouli direction demanded the skill and I was determined to do it myself," disclosed Charan, who would be obviously chasing down rivals besides romancing pretty girls, riding on the horse back. However, it would be a delight to watch it on screen.

Chiranjeevi - Ram Charan dance together

Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan will appear in a dance scene shaking legs for the remix song 'Bangarukodipetta...' from Gharanamogudu. The remix song is being shot for Ram Charan's second film directed by Rajamouli. Keeravani, who scored the music for the original, is once again scoring the music for this remix. The first part featuring Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan were filmed in Hyderabad. The rest of the song featuring Ram Charan and Mumaith Khan is now being canned at the shipyard in Chennai.

Dil Raju floats new banner

Noted producer and distributor Dil Raju is a successful film maker. He has several hit films to his credit like Dil, Bomarillu etc. Dil Raju is now setting up a new banner christened 'Matinee Entertainments'. He will make socially relevant films under this banner. Along with commercial success, Dil Raju now has an eye on awards as well.

Details of Balakrishna's film

Krishnaprasad, who earlier produced movies like Aditya 369, Vamsanikokkadu, Bhalevadivi Basu, started another film with Balakrishna, Priyamani in the lead. the film is officially started on Vijaya Dasami day at State Art Gallery in Madhapur. This yet to be titled film will be directed by Mahadev, who earlier worked with SS Rajamouli. Krishnaprasad is producing the film on Vaishnavi Films banner (earlier it was Sridevi Movies). K.Raghavendra Rao, SS Rajamouli and Venkatesh attended the event. Rajamouli directed the first shot while Raghavendra Rao switched on the camera and Venkatesh gave the clap. Regular shooting started on 9th and will continue to wrap up the film by February. Story is penned by Vijayendra Prasad.

Sunil getting slim for Rajamouli’s flick

Hope the audiences could easily remember the news that Rajamouli had selected Sunil as hero for his forthcoming film. It is learnt that Rajamouli reportedly told Sunil to shed weight for the movie and turn slim. Following his advice, Sunil is making all kinds of trials to shed his weight and almost lost 5 kgs already. The film is most likely to go to sets in January. Sunil is working hard to reduce 10 kgs more by that time. Rajamouli had already got the credit in making NTR slim for his film ‘Yamadonga’ a few months ago. Any director would get the credit for moulding the heroes suitable for his subject. The film in the combination of Rajamouli and Sunil will have story from Mullapudi Vara. It would have Rayalaseema faction as its backdrop. At the same time Rajamouli is planning to bring out as a nice entertainer. Another speciality of the film is that Chandrasekhar Yeleti is penning screenplay for the movie.

Naga Chaitanya’s film for regular shoot from Oct 21

It is well aware that Naga Chaitanya, son of Nagarjuna, is making his debut into films and the film was formally launched on Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s birthday recently with puja activities. The film is all set to go for regular shooting from October 21. Earlier it was planned to begin from October 23, the birthday of Naga Chaitanya. However, the unit felt that there will be some problems technically and hence preponed it just by two days. Sandeep Chowtha is scoring tunes for the film. However, the heroine is yet to be finalized for the movie. Dil Raju, who is giving successive hits is producing the film, while Vasu Varma is being introduced as director.

Media protest against IMAX personnel

Press photographers today staged a protest at the Screen 1 of Prasad Multiplex, Hyderabad, resenting the inhospitable and harsh attitude of the Operation personnel of the Prasadz. The photographers reached the venue to cover the music release function of Surya-Gowtham Menon's combination film Surya s/o Krishnan. The official in question was said to have prompted the security personnel to push away the photographers, despite knowing that they were officially invited to the film function. Dismayed at the gesture, they unanimously took a decision not to click their cameras until and unless the concerned person had apologized to them. With these uneasy moments prevailed with the hi-fi gathering including director Gowtham Menon, Harris Jayraj, Surya, Sameera Reddy, guests Venkatesh, Ramcharan Tej, Priyamani and others. After a half-an-hour remonstration, the organizers sought apology on behalf of the IMAX management, but the press community insisted that the particular person who behaved rashly should come in person to tender the apology from the stage. Chief Operations manager Srikanth too personally apologized to the media, but in vain. Finally, the official in the troubled matter was brought to the venue, where he said his "sorry" to the media over mike.

Venky, RCT launch 'Surya S/O Krishnan' music

It was unique audio launch and star studded event! Surya starrer Surya S/O Krishnan had its music launch today (October 10, 2008) in style at Prasad Multiplex, Hyderabad. No long speeches, no lengthy list of guests, but some good numbers played and rendered by the singers Karthik, Devan and Naresh Aiyer. Venkatesh, Ram Charan Teja and Priyamani were the chief guests graced the event. The film’s hero Surya, heroine Sameera Reddy, director Gautham Vasudeva Menon and music composer Haaris Jayaraj were specially flew down to Hyderabad from Chennai to attend the music launch. Sony BMG is marketing it in Telugu too. Venkatesh unveiled the audio CD albums and presented it to Ram Charan Teja while Priyamani released a song separately. Later the film’s two songs and promos were screened that received great response from the audiences. “There can't be a better combination than Gowtham-Surya-Harris Jayraj. I hope the film turns out to be bigger hit than their previous film,” Venkatesh wished the team. “I love Telugu people. They received me and my films with affection. Venkatesh is very close to me. About the film, it is close to my heart. I hope this music will be bigger hit than the Ghazini,” Surya, the film’s hero, said. Director Gowtham Menon said: "The film is a journey of a young man on the verge of life. It is also about the achievement of the youth. It is very special film in my career. Each member of the cast has worked hard to make this movie very very special. I thank them. Special thanks should be offered to legendary lyricist Veturi. Although he was not well, he came down to Chennai for music sittings and provided us beautiful lyrics. For Telugu version, Sashank Vennelakant's dialogues are great.” Ram Charan Teja said he would be working in Gowtham Menon’s film next year. He also said that Surya gives him the inspiration as actor. Sameera who looks ravishing now thanked Gowtham Menon for giving the opportunity. "I am a big fan of his Tamil film, Khaka Khaka. I have decided then that if ever I could get chance to do a Tamil film, it ought to be his. I thank him for giving the chance,” she said.

Haaris Jayaraj’s music for Ram Charan

Tamil music composer Haaris Jayaraj will be composing music for Ram Charan Teja’s next film to be directed by Bhaskar. Ram Charan Teja informed this to the media at audio function of Surya starrer Surya s/o Krishnan. “I have been admirer of Haaris’s great work. Though straight Telugu movies had not fared well but his music was big hit. Bhaskar and I have decided to have Haaris’s music for our next film and Haaris has also agreed to it,” Ram Charan announced it on the stage as Haaris smiling cheerfully. Ram Charan also looked dashing with his ponytail and lanky looks. He is currently shooting for Rajamouli’s untitled flick.

Balakrishna new film in regular shoot

Nandamuri Balakrishna's new film was formally launched on Dussera. The film's muhurtham shot was held at State Art Gallery, Hyderabad in a lowkey profile. The film produced by S. Krishna Prasad (of Aditya 369 fame) introduces Mahadev, Rajamouli's former associate, as director. The muhurtham scene was shot on Balakrishna and Priyamani. Venkatesh clapped for it while, K. Raghavendra Rao switched on the camera. SS. Rajamouli directed the first shot. The film has also begun its regular shoot and will continue in Malaysia and Rajahmundry in a nonstop schedule. It has story by Vijayendra Prasad while music is by NBK's favorite Manisharma.

'Avakai Biryani's music is out

Music of Aavakai Biryani is launched today at Hotel Taj Deccan, Hyderabad. Produced by Sekhar Kammula and directed by Anish Kuruvilla, the film has Kamal Kamaraju and Bindhu Madhavi in the lead roles. Ramesh Prasad unveiled the audio cassette and presented the first number to producer Sekhar Kammul. It was more of a gathering by the film's cast and crew and very formal meet. Highlight of the function was that only 'Biryani' (9 types of Biryani) and Avakaya pickle were served apart from dessert. Sekhar Kammula and Anish shared their experiences and how their friendship began on this ocassion. A special video was also shown in which Kammula spoke about his association with Anish and how he looked handsome like a model before 'Godavari'. Sekhar said:"Today films with strong content are doing well. We have grasped that point and have been making them in similar fashion. Avakai Biryani has strong storyline which came from a noble thought." He also praised Anish. "He wanted me to be on the sets but I hardly go to the location as I wanted him to handled it independently and be the film his own. All my technicians and actors did wonderful job.
